it supports standalone, may allow sideloading apks too, sounds more powerful than quest3 and also - no lag because the 6Ghz wifi doesn't go through the router, so long as you are close to the PCVR source - it's probably lag free. how did you do?

How does this comply with COPPA? Amazon was fined $25mm for failing to comply. Is the setting available, but obfuscated under "a child profile"?
Yes and these are not new problems. I encountered showstopper limitations backgrounding processes that make use of iBeacons, back in iOS 7.
The potential for data collection is massive.
I was tinkering with a firechat inspired mesh messaging concept as an indie iOS dev. I could not dismiss arguments about potential privacy concerns w/ persistent background apps advertising and scanning - but the lack thereof certainly dampens innovators too.
Although I did not speak openly of "TI" I did experience this phenomenon. Following obsessive dieting and exercising, then into a batch of seizures, I somewhat rapidly fell into the TI abyss. I consider myself today to remain a "voices hearer", although it's gotten much better over time and I am mindful to get more sleep than I need, as that's been the most curative for me.
That episode came on in 2012, and it has felt like it took > 10 years to fully recover. It certainly wasn't helpful and to the contrary extremely reinforcing when the whole snowden story broke.
This is a dreadful pit to fall into.
Pretend with me for one moment: You are single, you're looking for love in all the wrong places, mostly on OKCupid. An employee working within the NSA has stumbled upon your information in realtime in a PRISM data slurp, and has taken a personal interest - maybe they think you are weird, and they are not above abuse of their powers - and that they want to exert their "godlike" powers to toy with you - surveil you, pwn your computer, screw with your mind, etc. Keep pretending this is remotely close to reality! What recourse would you have? Would a FOIA request ever validate your claims? Where do you even begin to try to reconcile with this, as a firmly held belief?
.... My voices are illusory, they require a prompt. It can be water running, it is horribly triggered in large crowds. I still have panic attacks in Ikea (but who doesn't?)
.... I got better. It took 10 years of my life to get it back, mostly. It takes a lot out of me to even begin to try to share any of this.
I hope this post helps someone. You too can get through it.
famous for linux desktops with wood-grain paneling, if memory serves! (and it maybe doesn't!)
meanwhile, some overworked analyst is freaking out deciphering event logs where a single users idling tab is refreshing into a dead link or a dead session.
how is focusing on solutions a kind act?
Not the op, but I could imagine a series of portals in a circle formation at each site; maybe like 12 or 13 simulcast connections would be insane.
It wouldn’t be so appalling if the clothes were made from sustainable, biodegradable materials.
I appreciate that the article calls out the trash as being like an oil slick, which is a sticking point I think we all can be upset about, and use our agency to demand change.
Don’t buy plastic to wear. Tell manufacturers (brands) they are grotesque for using plastics in clothing.
CAN I GET AN UPDATE? !?! !! every 60 seconds is the only way
When taking notes by hand from a lecture, all I can really focus on is the typography. As in, will I be able to recognize this later?
Maybe the repeated parsing and checking for legibility is the foil that improves memory retention!
I’m also in this place. I have the wifi card as well and I’ve not taken to writing any hobbyist software for mine.
I had perhaps foolishly hoped to at least get a fun universal remote out of it, and it’s somewhat possible yet the software just isn’t there to bring a robust family of device RF and Bluetooth commands together. It’s no harmony remote.
At the risk of sounding rude, you could start by politely declining the request. It's certainly an option. :)

as a truncation of Gojira (go jee rah), i assume it is "jee rah" as others have stated here.
I’m reading there that fentanyl appears to be the culprit.
I realize it is a drug, but not sure if that’s even supposed to be in the drugs.
Is this really a story of drug dealers cutting the drugs that people wanted.. into a lethal concoction?
(Sorry I really don’t know, are users looking for fentanyl?)
80s/90s kid here..
I remember my car breaking down and needing to walk to a rest area, to use a pay phone to call for help.
That and using pay phones generally as a convenience when I would bike miles into town, well that isn’t really available anymore.
I’ve had to knock on a door to ask a stranger to use their phone.
I’ve had to ask a store to use their phone.
A lot of this seems so strange now, like I cannot picture myself needing to rely on strangers and stores!
I carry a usb a to c cable in my “go bag” to work. It’s a 3” cable with some flex to it. Weighs nothing.
They are in the range of $10 Put in an expense report if IT doesn’t have one for you?
The choice of phrasing in your post highlight a considerable growth opportunity, for yourself, in working toward having stronger emotional intelligence.
It is Movember. Maybe use it as an excuse to open up in a conversation with your colleague on men's mental health issues and how stigmas around neurodivergence are unfair? Maybe you can grow mustaches together and raise awareness for a good cause. I'm saying that it sounds like your first step here is to have some empathy and try connecting on a personal level.
A developer with autism may turn out to be an astounding asset. If you are managing this person, then it is up to you to find what motivates and produces the best work from them.
Welcome to management.

The one data point I can offer is that beat scheduler is a must have for our tiny moonlighting-as-devops squad, and that integrates perfectly with the admin panel.
So, in a word: Celery.
This also allows django tasks to be fired from other clients (other than a direct web site visit), which permits us to author tasks that can be leveraged from other containers/app instances.
Almost all CRUD ops are handled purely in the backend as like "not really django-like" implementations, which suits us perfectly - in case we want to pack up our things and move to a new framework.
semi-related: I do get a jolly deep belly laugh when "a threat to national security" is loosely tossed out as doublespeak for "an augment to individual privacy".
Without a VPN or tor on at least some of those browsers, though, I imagine the metadata strewn about could get stitched back together on the data-broker (ad-tech) end of all those transactions.
this is why RMS ssh's into a pine server to read email, i reckon.
this is indeed what had happened to one of my top listens in 2022.
artist decided to revise their own back catalog narrative so to speak, and I get it but holy crap the horses already left the stable.
So it is not for sale. I might find it on soulseek (thanks for the suggestion someone else ITT). the album meant a lot to me, as these things can when they're literally top playcounts for the year - clearly it does.
and it was, you know... super-indie, mom's basement kind of soundcloud & distrokid released production.
wonderful and now gone. Had I bought this on iTunes it would have gone into my offline library. it was for sale, and is no more.
my takeaway has been to get very defensive about any hyper-indie releases that I want to hang onto.
I have music playlists turned to swiss cheese on paid streaming music services, and it's for that reason that I've turned to doing the unthinkable: buying mp3s like some kind of devolved luddite.
TIL: do read the comments before opening the subject URL.
Good. Still not far enough to account for unreasonable search. GPS a little inaccurate? Suddenly you’re in a data slurping dragnet for “standing” in the middle of a Capital riot, while you’re not really there at all.
It’s a shame that the eye trackers are not suitable to understand the shape of the eye, so the image could be adapted for it.
I feel you on this topic. I wear glasses. Wearing a really old pair from 20 years back is painful, but I can slip comfortably into a prescription from 6 years ago, I don’t know what your experience is with that, though.
I wish there were more information about this. Should I get an updated Rx and put in a pre-order for lenses? Who knows!?! I’m astigmatic, near sighted I guess, but a close up VR lens doesn’t change focal length at all, so lenses are a must for me.
Waiting and “seeing” ;)
as a telemarketer some 25 years ago, perchance I talked to your friend's dad.
Although, he had said that he had just downed a handful of viagra and I was running the clock out on that so he really, really had to get off... the phone.
Telemarketing was one of my first jobs between high school and college. I hated the job and I was fired because I couldn't sell anything to anyone. Area jobs were very slim and I didn't have much experience, and it paid considerably better than mcdonalds - I apologize to World+Dog for being that obnoxious nuisance. I landed a job in IT shortly therafter and never looked back.
the energy used to salvage the e-waste may have been a bit excessive relative to the e-waste. really cool project! Also incredibly impractical while the barrier to entry isn't exactly low.
