I'd learn as much as I could about what the nature of the question would be beforehand and pay a human with a great track record of handing such questions.

The problem is that social systems aren't run off people teaching themselves things, and for many people being autodidact won't raise their status in any meaningful way, so these are a poor set of tradeoffs.

It feels like LLMs are doing to coding what the internet/attention economy did to journalism.
