I get a lot of robocalls from spoofed numbers that have my area code and even the first 3 digits of my phone number in common. I guess the thought is that people are more likely to pick up if the number looks familiar? For me, it's just an indication of a robo call that I won't pick up.

This article sums up my recent experience trying to get a skill published. It was slightly frustrating to receive multiple rejection emails, but at least the responses were detailed and helpful.
While building some skills for fun, I also made some gulp tasks for locally testing skills and deploying the code to your lambda. https://github.com/tmcleroy/alexa-skills
Time Warner increased speeds in Austin after Google Fiber was announced? I guess that doesn't apply to either my home or work connection, they're both still as shitty as ever.
Austin is fantastic as far as the job market goes but I wouldn't consider it anywhere near cheap unless you want a very long commute into the city or find a job in Round Rock, Buda, or Cedar Park.
Unless you want to live in the ghetto, you won't be able to rent near Midtown for less than $900 for a small one bedroom.
