I'd love to cycle more outdoors, but I'm always wary of the risks. How cool would it be if you could hire a waymo as a "team car" and have it follow you around? It could also carry extra equipment...and act as a ride home in case of emergencies.
Is it just me or are an increasing number of (high profile) people in the tech industry into luxury watches these days?
They probably know what it is but are just not familiar with the term.
I find the OS' captive portal detection to sometimes be flaky, so I often just directly visit www.neverssl.com to reliably trigger the captive portal redirect.

Well said. How do we know what happiness feels like unless we have experienced unhappiness? This doesn't answer OPs question, but it is still worth thinking about.
I would have forgiven most things like lower viewership if the stream itself was at least reliable. That said, Google/Facebook's requirement that you use some "real name" just goes against what gamers prefer: anonymity.
Just like OS concepts like sockets/files/pipes and how clang/ld/dyld actually works.
My personal experience is that I got bored with frontend and pushing pixels, and when I tried to switch into infra work I found my incomplete picture of CS made it hard for me to grasp concepts other seem to take for granted. Maybe you don't have to have a CS degree, but even having a survey knowledge of major CS topics will at least give you more confidence.

Yeah I played a lot in Taiwan during middle/high school and we called it 14-1 too.

I watched a lot of SC2 during WOL and I recently went to IEM San Jose. I was reminded of why I stopped watching. Koreans are completely impersonal. You can't even force yourself to become partial to them on any level other than their in game skills. As a foreigner, all the Koreans might as well be clones of each other. The language barrier is simply too much and it makes for a really boring spectator environment.

the point of technical interviews is to see how you think about problems, getting it correct isn't even that important. i can understand why people really hate this stuff if they did not come from a cs background, but it is a knowledge gap that they should look to bridge eventually...
What I really want to know is why NSURLCache does not go to disk when it should. And also if it's fixed in iOS 7...
