The future is pretty obvious. People spending thousands of hours honing the skills of being able to create visual art will dwindle. The same will be true for many creative endeavors. Artists will still exist and some will be able to make a living from it but it will rare. Slop will prevail. Most people will lose the ability or care to try and tell the difference. The attention wars have a lot of time to go. The addicted are kids and teens and young adults at this point and I see little to make me think they break out of it any time soon.

Very doubtful when you really dig into what is involved. We probably will never make it out of the solar system. To another star is a pipe dream. We will wreck our planet soon enough and the likely outcome is our species will go extinct. This will probably happen in the next few thousand years or sooner.

A few years ago I realized I hardly read books any longer. I maybe read a few books a year. I made an effort to start reading and read around 50 a year for a few years. That has dropped quite a bit the past year or two. It definitely took me a while to gain back my ability to focus on reading and I feel I am regressing again. I built a decent home library so have plenty to read but the desire comes and goes. I tried branching out into graphic novels and some have managed to hold my interest. Also some philosophy and psychology books. Lately nothing has really drawn me in though. In the past browsing a used book store or library usually had me getting interested in something different so I might do that soon. Also asking my family and friends for their favorite books.

Extron made great audio extractors and they can be found for cheap. Also nice is it provides balanced stereo output. I have a bunch lf them for getting audio to my mixer from whatever with hdmi.

Reminds me of the horse racing game in needful things.
