I've used this set up for 3 or 4 years now and love it. I used to hit bottlenecks having to edit some nix files once or twice a month and forgetting the language but LLMs dramatically reduce that barrier.

I keep hearing this refrain that Starlink is going to connect everyone. LTE already covers 93% of the population globally [1]. There are obviously dead spots but I really don't see the economic case for Starlink coverage. I frequently travel with a mini and I appreciate the near certainty of connection but it seems like a luxury item. The vast majority of the time cell connection is fine. I suppose Starlink could eat all the telcos but it seems like they aren't too far behind and this connectivity will be commoditized.

Where are these open models that are as good as GPT and Claude and run locally?

To be fair, there are plenty of local models you can run. Seems surprising that in 5-10 years those models wouldn't match state of the art today.

I wouldn't call checking a bank balance and initiating transfers "serious tasks". Maybe important but they aren't complex.

I've used contacts for about 20 years and I prefer them to glasses doing anything active and generally traveling. I would be very worried about navigating the world without being able to read things 3 feet away with my prescription of -4 so I always travel with a pair of glasses.

This is an interesting point. There is some satisfaction from the likes, the comments, and the assurance that _someone_ is seeing your frustration even if the company does nothing.

There are many reasons why reaching out to support will be more effective. Logging may be tied to accounts, support systems may upload client side logs where appropriate, an event may be tracked to determine a point in time when you had the problem so relevant logs can be checked.

Their messaging probably could have been better here to say "we're looking into this. If you have time, please file a support request".

On Fastmail.com, the support request is two clicks away, under the big ? button in the upper right and "Contact Support". I'm not sure how much time you have but it took me less than 1 minute to find this button and submit from my logged in account.

This is odd. I've purchased razor blades from Walgreens and CVS locations across the US. Pharmacies in New York, San Francisco, and Denver as well as local pharmacies in small towns. I've also purchased them traveling abroad in Europe and the UK.

I just checked Walgreens' stock around me and every store within 5 miles (I think there's 7 of them) claims to have the Walgreens brand DE razor blades in stock.

Been using DE razors for probably 15 years and never had anything more than a nick.

Thats why there is an annual benchmarking process, where we look back at the previous 5 quarters of QCEW data and are able to reconcile the differences.

The monthly estimation is like playing the "telephone" game. Maybe you played as a child. One person whispers a phrase into the ear of the person next to them and it gets whispered down a big line of people. Once at the end everybody laughs at how different the final phrase is compared to the original phrase.

The further away we get from the benchmarked data is the same as being further away from the first time the phrase was whispered - noise WILL enter the data - and it will begin to diverge from the "universe", or the original phrase in the telephone game.

There is no conspiracy. There are literally millions of businesses who report their employment data every month. There are easily 100+ eyes on the employment data at the BLS.

It is statistically impossible that all 100 BLS employees and the millions of reporters are all in a big "help Biden" conspiracy and there isn't a single iota of evidence or whisperings of a conspiracy.

I'm sure Patreon is just itching to take on the wealthiest company's legal department. Even the wealthiest nation states are struggling to reign this in.

Is it only routine screening that would help account for increases or also better detection for symptomatic individuals? Maybe more easily available blood tests or more frequent referrals for colonoscopies for those outside of typical screening groups.
