I don’t understand your consistent personal attack here. Do I really need to explain why I would never use those services for production? They’re not reliable and you don’t have control over them. Building an entire business on top of these services come with significant risks.

Interesting. I personally would never use those services for production/work. And even for personal it’s iffy at best. I wasn’t aware they had so many users.
Am I the only who thinks Zapier and IFTTT are useless? The only one that comes close to delivering on utility is autocode.
Totally agree. I imagine work politics will take over and people will be more or less forced to come back into office. To be fair, I think it’s a big part of work culture that will be very hard to formulate in virtual settings.
Sure, “kind of like” how the Nazi Party usurped Germany a hundred years ago. Why don’t you have a civil discourse with people who believe in slavery? Give me a break.
There’s no discussion to be had when you’re FOR equality and the other side is arguing against it. There’s equality and fairness. The rest is garbage. There’s no need to meet in between and compromise. If you compromise with shtty ideas you are gonna get sht on your shirt.
It’s been seven months. This is absolutely ridiculous and has everything to do with the lack of leadership and willful negligence of US gov’t.
I know there’s a lot of hate for big oil but the battery industry is not run by saints.
To be honest, SEC has not been doing its job for the past four years since this admin took control.
Disagree. This is yet another sign that there’s enough shenanigans happening in the market. If something this blatant can happen in the wide open imagine what other companies are hiding in the dark.
This so much. He did it out in the open and admitted repeatedly that everything is outsourced. I mean anyone with a million or two can put together a hydrogen fuel cell truck that “runs”. No science/engineering background or even passing interest in learning the tech he sells.
What a scam. I wonder what this does to market confidence. Yet another sign that we are getting really close to a crash.
Taking an hour-long walk during lunch is the best thing I ever did for my health and work productivity.
But said company has practically unlimited resources and actually touts privacy and security in ads.
Ok so we are going for the least common denominator based on your mother. Makes zero sense.
I am really sorry but most “science” coming out of even the top institutions these days are sadly uninspired garbage regurgitations.
This so much. I cannot stress enough what an impact various python developments have had on the economy as a whole. Sometimes the right tools can inspire people and that’s exactly what happened.
That gave me a chuckle. I take it you work in finance and a subtle form of front running is literally what bulge bracket trading desks do day in day out.
This should be illegal and they should get sued by the US govt.
I take it you work for free all the time.
Am I the only one who thought Autodesk was very generous with Fusion 360 for years? It was basically the best software for hobbyist and it was offered for FREE.
Agreed. As much as I would hate it as someone who utilizes their services, Netlify should look for an exit. AWS is probably the best bet. Between services such as Github Pages, Vercel, and Firebase there’s a lot of competition.
I guess there’s some use case for Jamstack static generators but unless you do frequent builds just building vanilla HTML is my preference.
To be fair, how many people can say otherwise? That you’re working for something more than money? Creatives? And people with “fk you” money? It’s ridiculously hard to go against the establishments and most people fail doing so.
I think Apple ran out of ideas guys.
They need to block this deal. A real clean case.
Years back someone asked me an interview question to explain sd and confidence intervals. I just gave the wrong answers and left. Especially in nascent fields such as ML and DS, it’s very important to work with people who actually know what they are doing. Otherwise you will have wasted years of your precious twenties doing absolutely nothing productive.
Nikola isn’t really an innovator in my view. They take what’s out in the market and assemble them which is not really that practical when it comes to manufacturing vehicles. This is like me saying I have an automobile company for nuclear powered trucks. And they should be valued as such.
There are a lot of electric car manufacturers putting in real work such as Bollinger Motors.
I think it’s best to stay language agnostic especially in 2020. I try to think data-in data-out and use the best tools available for clean execution.
I mean they couldn’t just do it in Matlab? or Python? So incredibly lazy.
