I have found them to be an utterly incompetent implementation.
Maybe it's an issue with my set up, but they are shockingly bad in a way that makes them feel like they were hacked together. They lack basic functionality like scroll wheel click on any navigation buttons. They are constantly slow in opening. All while missing basic considerations like "Back" isn't separated by tab, so opening a new tab and navigating to a folder makes my "Home" the previous folder for all tabs on that window.
Again, maybe it's my set up, but going back to dolphin I am shocked they get away with something so half-baked.

Why, it works on windows? And it's not 'random hardware' its the hardware they have and use. You should realize this is a failure of linux, not of the user.
It does have the advantage of context menus that contain all of the context, rather than a button to revert to an older version of the context menu that has what you actually want!
It really has come a long way. Obviously this is one users needs, and other folks will find other things that are missing or not 100%. But the fact that in this case the conversation as moved from gaming more generally, to vendor specific overclocking is quite a sign of the times.
This conversation is perpetually marred by this sort of flippant response. No one expects MacOS to work on anything but Apple hardware, but they do expect a random chip on the motherboard they've been using for a several years to work. Proposing they google every chip on their motherboard to see if they can run linux is a failure of linux.
I would hope that you consider that dismissive replies like this do little to encourage anyone to adopt linux, and instead make the community seem elitist and off putting.

To read the claims charitably, it could be that fans of open AI, and Sam Altman jumped to his defense in the ways that toxic fandoms often do to women. It wouldn't surprise me if constant flagging and reporting suppressed her presence on social media.

I don't see how this relates. The point was about Palestine as a state. If enough people recognize Palestine as a separate state, this becomes an international issue. I believe this was the A is B claim digging made. What would be the analogous claim for your point? That some folks believe Palestine is it's own state, and some folks don't, and that the views are not mutually exclusive?

Googling it, everything I am seeing says that no part of discord is end-to-end encrypted. Do you have a source for that, I thought they were pretty adamantly against it?
I don't know that I agree with your point about data being necessary for QoS. Many of the issues I have with Discord go ignored, and I've found that more than ignorance, resources are the issue with features and reliability of open source projects.
Further I Googled around a bit to see if I could find if Discord was profitable yet, and didn't see anything suggesting it was. There were some revenue break downs, but obviously that's far from profit. I know there were lay-offs not too long ago, but I would be curious if you have evidence that their making profit.

I would not be shocked to learn about an expansion of the "Quest" system that to be more ad like. I remember this specifically being mentioned by the CEO on the Decoder podcast.
My largest grips with Discord is how the community has adopted it as a replacement for forums, and that they have very little interest in linux support, but the former is not really their fault, and the ladder is just the reality of a lot of software. Even beyond those gripes though, I don't know that I agree it is a paragon that won't enshitify like any other for-profit software.
A quick google shows a mumble mobile client exists, but honestly recommending a voice only program as a replacement for discord is genuinely ridiculous on their part.
Matrix is the closet they get. A large part of their point is self hosting, and Signal is a bit better, but still fundamentally resides on someone else's servers. And last I checked, Signal required a phone number to make account and connect with others, which personally is a line.
With how ubiquitous discord has become for online spaces, I don't think it's unreasonable to hope for some degree of privacy, particularly in DMs or small close nit servers.
I think the point being made, with all the abrasion of a sander, was that even in the most controlled case of DMs or two person servers, all information is still available to third party admins, which wouldn't be the case with something like self hosted Matrix server.
I agree with you that this is hardly the most convincing point to 'the friend group', but with every electron of the online experience being mined for potential revenue, there is something to be said for technologies that work a barrier to data siphoning.
