Furthermore, it is a big effort to maintain a distribution, started from maintaining infrastructure, doing QA, especially ensure security, get releases out… while in the end the buyer typically has his own choice (or requirement) of distribution. Therefore, I think it is more then reasonable to pick out one, but also ensure drivers for all the used hardware make it into the kernel.

In modern economy, when business is doing well, profits and top salaries grow, but that's it. One place? I could limit my choice down to three for different reasons.

* Kazan, Russia. A big city with a great architecture, interesting people and a broad mix of cultures. Also, part of family is not too far away.

* Finland, mostly because I am interested in their education system and my child gets into that age… Otherwise it's also a tech hot spot, plenty great people and projects originated there.

* Crete, Greece, great climate, kind people, beaches, mountains (awesome nature), terrific food.

The only "trouble" I have had with UEFI was when I moved my wife's HDD from the old to the new Laptop (a Tuxedo btw that ships by default with some Linux). A live usb repair distro (I don't remember which one, I started from looking at SuperGrubDisk but ended up elsewhere) dealt with that quickly. She, not a computer person, is using Kubuntu for years.

Later, I got also the same laptop and moving my drive with an (fresher) install of Antergos went without any issue at all.
