what I don't understand is, given the anthropic narrative, why on earth rewrite bun to rust, and not claude code to rust? why use typescript at all when the whole point is that languages don't matter anymore? I suppose it is solely because it would be a bad look on them to rewrite claude itself - it means they failed - but rewriting bun is a much better narrative - claude is fine! it's just his runtime we need fixing. and here is that token heavy story!

so weird people are not commenting on this.

it's like.. I dunno, rewrite linux in rust, because bun uses glibc, this will somehow make it better, so claude code somehow can run better?

hell, start with UEFI.

love that you somehow think that the other contenders are so much more trustworthy (and you have the top comment so others do as well) that you have to comment on it.

I know he is an AI influencer that promotes his blog any chance he gets.

I agree as well that he writes many interesting things.

Anyone care about these pelicans that always come up anymore?

Clearly at this point they are part of the training data.

They even all look sort of ish the same. Daytime, colors,...

That’s not a software guy who happened to raise some money. That’s someone whose stated specialty is the PE integration and exit process.

Holy smokes has that's not just -> THAT IS become one of my trigger words.

Curious why you think that? Stuff like

Yes, there is a relative scale level...

Yes, having the smartest model will...

yes Chinese AI companies have ...

yes yes yes, I didn't say anything, why write in a way that insinuates that I was thinking that?

I mean it doesn't come off as AI slop, so that's yay in 2026. But why do you think it is so good?

Everybody says this. It's so weird.

How on earth will epic win without exclusives? It's like launching some Facebook competitor "but you get two profile pictures". Noone would switch.

All these geeks singing steam and lamenting competition. Competition bad for me mkay, steam good.

/me shakes head

If you use an extension like vimium, you get this by using the standard [[ and ]] vim motions for this.

Also, using the keyboard for navigation, while it sounds like a chore, is really quite excellent, and I prefer it to the mouse, as crazy as that might sound.

Given their statements, influencers and indeed their raison d'être I don't understand why this and bun was acquired? Why did they not just Ralph loop it? Claude is famously not made by humans anymore.

One prompt and call it a weekend. Surely they have the compute.

Oooooh, right.

Same reason we don't have windows 41 either.

What on earth do you have to rely on alphabet, an ad company, to read rss for? there are many other options, that are not made by an ad company.

Google Reader was never the answer. It's such a shame that people even here don't realize that relying on Google for that had interests at odds - and you weren't part of the equation at all.

Well, except for your data. You didn't give them enough data. So they shut down shop. Gmail though, ammirite? :D

Yeah I wonder why gmail was not one of the shut down products /s

For now you are. All these things fall with time, of course. You will stop caring once you start feeling safe, we all do.

Also. AAarrgh, my new thing to be annoyed at is AI drivel written slop.

"No browser automation framework, no separate browser instance, no re-login."

Oh really, nice. No separate computer either? No separate power station, no house, no star wars? No something else we didn't ask for? Just one a toggle and you go? Whoaaaaaa.

Edit: lol even the skill itself is vibe coded:

Lightweight Chrome DevTools Protocol CLI. Connects directly via WebSocket — no Puppeteer, works with 100+ tabs, instant connection.

I feel like there's nothing fucking left on the internet anymore that is not some mean of whatever the LLM is trained to talk like now.

Great stuff. Funny how that whole Ai thing is Ai generated:

No gptel, no ellama, just url-retrieve and some JSON parsing.

The no x no y just z is the new em dashes. And that will probably be true for about a week.

Some litmus test. I am sooo tired of statements like "No x. No y. No z." and then optionally "Just Foo.".

Who aside from Fred fucking Durst writes like that?

Ugh... Clearly llm generated. This is how internet has become. 90% of posts are variations of tropes like these.

I self host miniflux. Elfeed in Emacs, read you on android. The read status syncs between devices and clients.

I have miniflux set up so it integrates with instapaper so I get interesting articles on my kindle. And saving an article will send it to karakeep automatically for permanent storage! (image, video, screen shots and text storage).

Pretty pretty pretty good.

Strange. I have a tab hoarding problem, I often have over 1000 tabs open [1][2], and I cannot remember the last time Firefox crashed. I'm thinking it must have been years? I use ublock origin though, which might help since ads do their best to steal your computer and soul through any means possible of course.

I also use a bunch of other extensions though, dark reader, vimium, sideberry... I'd expect me to be a bit more exposed than the average user. Yet it's just rock stable for me. Maybe it just works better on linux?

1: I know this because I installed https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-counter-p... to check :)

2: However after finding Karakeep I don't actually have 1000 tabs anymore!

so use a card? there is always something. breaking free is never going to be without ANY inconveniences, it's how they build their moat after all. okay so once those two work, one goes to the next thing on the list; "I wish I could switch but I can't use gboard on it and the swiping is 0.5% better than the stock keyboard so it's unusable to me"

(you can use gboard, that was just an example - but it's always these small inconveniences, just like in the chrome vs firefox threads)
