Yeah it's strange, it locks up the whole browser and makes it really hard to exit the tab.

I would suggest organising your email how you want it in your current account and use imap to migrate - makes it take easy. I'm not sure if that was part of your question but I didn't see it mentioned in the other comments.

That page just freezes the browser using Brave on Android.

I was getting at the points I've quoted below [1] - it may not even be your opinion, you say "there are many that would argue", but in my opinion art does not need a story or any emotion to still be art.

Some amazing artworks are just people trying their best to create something that looks good.

These sort of phases have always bothered me.

Art if about whatever you want it to be. My kid painting a dinosaur that looks like a scribble is art. A masterful recreation of a photograph in oil paint is art. T shaped lines on a page that have 'hidden meaning' is art.

Portraying someone realistically is as much art as throwing paint at a canvas with a particular meaning in mind is art.

It's all art. There's nothing wrong with enjoying art that doesn't have some hidden meaning. I love realism for the skill involved. I love abstract art for the ideas involved and the thought it provokes.

Enjoyment of visual art is entirely subjective, you like it or you don't, but it's still art.

There is so much of a "gatekeeping" sense when it comes to the question of "what is art", especially in the sense that "if you don't understand it your not appreciating it". You are allowed to like it just because of the way it looks.

You'll find a lot of very insightful blog posts on HN written by talented engineers that work at FB or are ex FB..

It's quite common knowledge that a lot of brilliant engineers are hired by FB. I am by no means a fan of FB but it's a known fact that they hire many excellent engineers.

This is a strange take on it, defogging is rather critical unless you have a rag handy, you have to see.

Wipers - rather critical. Engine - very critical. Seatbelts - rather critical of you value your life Fuel tank that holds fuel - very critical.

Auto hold is far from critical and I have only encountered it on large trucks back when I was a truck driver.

I've owned over 20 different vehicles and none of them have had auto hold. Just hold the brake on!

But the demister is in the same section as the climate control for just about any car with hard buttons, it's literally part of the system.

The UX sucks, but if you did know where climate control features are hidden, why would you not assume the demister function is elsewhere?

UX is interesting because what is seemingly common sense to me (demister = climate control) is totally not to others.

I agree with all of this, but the assertion that some are making that the window demisting is weakly related to the climate control system seems very odd.

It's literally a function of the climate control system, and is almost always part of the same set of buttons as temp/fans etc in a car with hard buttons.

When you push the demist button, air is directed to the windscreen, by the same system that directs air to your face or feet.

So many water tightness issues appear to be already present. That thing is awesome, but it's a nightmare.

You'll get there! Initial "trial" flying lessons can be relatively cheap, and in my case the tutor was letting me take off and land on my second lesson (with dual controls of course, I wasn't very good)
