Gemini 3.1 Pro 5 months ago

I’m no tech expert like a lot of people here, but I find Gemini 3.0 insanely good for my regular daily questions. Hoping this one is great too. I’m kind of at the point where many answers are essentially perfect and I don’t know if I need much more

I just need the Gemini app to allow push to talk :( Otherwise it’s not usable for me in the way I want it to be

The left has been authoritarian. Rewind the clock to 2018, and speak your mind freely on a college campus and at some point you’ll say something that makes you lose your job. That’s one of many examples of the left being actually authoritarian.

I’m not saying two wrongs make a right and I’m not justifying the current administration. But if we look to how we got here, that’s a lot of why, if not mostly why.

Yeah I have to manually hold it down every time I talk. I have a lot of pauses and simply would not be able to interface with that without that option. It’s why I essentially can’t use Gemini voice mode

There’s a grok app for iPhone that’s basically the same as ChatGPT/deepseek/mistral/gemini/claude

I’m from Oregon suburbs right by Intel’s largest campus. I went to all public schools and I was really fortunate that for the most part I was able to intellectually explore and take advanced classes. I took full courseloads in high school instead of having empty periods like most of my peers. I entered college as a a junior credit wise. What I read about California often horrifies me

Well competitors are going to have to use SpaceX rockets to get their satellites up. So no matter what SpaceX is winning

I have bluesky and mastodon accounts and I’m always surprised at how people extreme people call them. I have them just as my music/photography accounts. So the people I add are doing the same stuff. My feed is just as extreme as Flickr aka zero extremeness. Just pictures of bridges and music and normal thoughts.

Perplexity has already been doing this for a long time and it’s pretty excellent. I use it daily

I bought a portable AC battery for my Mac mini for $65. Hard agree though that it would be a lot cooler if the conversion was in the cable so I could just do dc in.

The thing is, M chips run so efficiently that even with the power loss from conversion, it’s still pulling less power than a lot of PCs.

But yeah it running on a sleek dc battery would be a lot cooler

If I’m someone who does not super high intensity photo and video work, is a usb 3.2 gen 2 aka ~1 GB/s speeds fine in a hard drive?

I got the Mac mini m1 as my first Apple computer recently (used). It’s really cool. It never heats up ever

Agreed. I use perplexity and chat gpt daily, but if I understand correctly that’s all done off device which is fine with me. I don’t need to generate weird images, or have my phone rewrite emails for me, or summarize stuff.

Yeah that’s how I feel. I feel like the iPhone 7 could handle all the daily use cases just fine. Every phone after is cool but doesn’t accomplish anything

I think this study was just young African women in a high incidence area. They basically picked the most likely place in the world a person would get it

Just to interject, but I’m a bisexual male and I’ve never once heard of a biohazard party in real life

Vaccines could be cool to give to entire populations, or for really poor or hard to reach places, doing a one and done approach. It could be part of kids’ shot regiment that they don’t even think about, like the hpv vaccine now.

Then for moderate and high risk people they could do the twice yearly shot once it becomes relevant.

I’m no expert in this field at all, just doing my armchair analysis here.
