The high pixel response time on macbook displays means you'll want an external monitor for multiplayer shooters etc., which most gamers are already fine with, but annoying if you want to game while travelling.

Unplugging the monitor power for a second solves about half of the issue we're having with our Dell U22DEs, but the plugs are hard to reach so we've seriously considered tripping the relevant power breakers once a week before deciding it was too brutal.

While most users know the power trick by now, there are still those in the "not my job" and "any excuse is a good excuse" categories, and for those I might just spend a little on old fashioned power timers.

The worst part about the convoluted download process is that it seems someone have actively been making it more difficult since the first iteration, and I can't for the life of me understand why. Is it being done by someone who hates Broadcom? Or perhaps struggle with mental illness? Or is it due to a mix of micro management and extreme incompetence? I can't remember seeing something this bad since the horror shows people managed to create using stuff like Flash and Silverlight.

Directory Opus was great back in the day, remember the joy of binding a ton of scripts and cli and gui apps to various buttons.

There's no point in stripping a binary or even using UPX on it unless you're targeting extremely low memory environments

Late question, but how do you deal with the audio lag when using the Elgato? Got the same dongle, and an old Nikon, but never got a handle on the lag.

I don't have these pedals [1] (yet), but considering how much I'm struggling with osteoarthritis at the ripe old age of 49, I do think they might offer some relief during my longer vim stints.

I remember running Mac software on my A4000-040. It was smoother than on real 68k macs, likely due to the co-processors the Amiga had. I didn't use the emulator much as I found most things just as good or better on the Amiga side of things, with an asteroid shooter, Maelstrom, as an exception - loved that game :)

I'd probably juat add the oil to the rinsed rice before dumping it into the pot.

Dvorak being the default layout was a problem because it was completely hidden due to the low screen resolution.

Just finished installing it in a VMware Workstation VM:

* The installer lags unless you temporarily disable 3D acceleration until open-vm-tools are installed

* The Norwegian keyboard layout defaults to Dvorak, which I suspect isn't the most common one ;)

* The default installer resolution was a tiny 800x600. Click Activities and type Displays to get to the relevant settings.

Now for the more exciting stuff, like testing if Tailscale works out of the box.
