Thanks. I got it to run on my work laptop that runs Windows. Selections don't work, and cairo spits out a bunch of errors during the screen redraws.

Do you have a list of devices you use? It would be very helpful, since HomeAssistant has hundreds of integrations, and it's a lot of work to track down devices that -

I really want my smart home devices to meet these criteria, but at the same time I have a bunch of other stuff I do.... so it would be awesome to have a starting point from people who have done it already.
Mozilla used to have such a database, but seems to have forgotten it.
Where I work, it just means I have to maintain my own infrastructure in addition to being a developer.
Last I checked, the mycroft timer could set simple timers, (set a 5 minute timer, etc.) but things like repeating timers weren't working yet.
It's getting better, but in many cases it's not there yet.
I'm not complaining because as much as I want to help, I simply can't spend enough time to get into the code.
I want to use mycroft, since their privacy concerns are a real thing.
Black is pretty nice with the defaults, but it certainly is configurable these days.
It can take command line options, or it can be configured in your Poetry pyproject.toml file.

Just moved from Linux to Windows at work.
It's not WSL I find myself using to have a good shell experience. It's MinGW/mintty. I even got a plugin to wrap it around WSL, since the Windows console experience is pretty painful. I miss my middle-click pasting and nice color schemes.
I just wish I could setup the path translations in PyCharm to use the same mapping. Things work, (and not too bad) but I just hate having to rewrite all of the paths in my environmental variables.
My other gripe is with the Cisco VPN client running all internet traffic through it, rather than having OpenConnect sort it out ahead of time.... but that's not really a Windows issue.

Right now, most of the tech industry, and a good portion of the news media are at odds with the executive branch of the government.
This article puts at least one popular news outlet against several tech industry giants. Divide.
What comes after divide? ...and who has the most to gain? I doubt it's actually our executive branch. I think they could be getting played just as much as Bloomberg and the Tech industry.
Anyone who knows that their D&D Character with a 20 INT isn't invincible. You have to have a combination of scores in all of the attributes to succeed. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't apply this to real life.
That being said, I often find that I over-think tasks, and end up never completing them because I try to make them perfect, and find out at some point that I can't.
What's more important than "perfect" is "good enough", and sometimes a high IQ won't allow you to accept that.

There's a Skype for Business written in JavaScript? I know there is Skype, but it doesn't talk to our Skype for Business (Lync) server.... I have to use Pidgin for that. (Linux)

Damn. I haven't played much since about 1998 or so, and still have several of my decks from then, and some of the cards I used were quite valuable at the time.
The first thing I always installed in Windows was the gnu tools port. (unixutils?)
Now when I sit down at a Windows box, it's the Ubuntu terminal. Over the years, I've become pretty platform agnostic. However, having to change my keyboard shortcuts for Mac, and no single way to copy/paste in a terminal between Windows (double right-click)/Mac (alternate between middle-click, or right click and paste depending on the source)/Linux (good old middle click!) is pretty annoying. It's also annoying that the Mac uses a whole different button for copy/paste, and the Home/End keys don't work the same.

Sure. 1. Put a bus monitor in an official looking uniform on the bus instead of a bus driver. 2. Have the bus route programmed into the bus. 3. Have each student badge/scan in to the bus, and determine which stops to make based on that. 4. Announce which student the stop is for, and have them badge/scan out. 5. Have a (opt-in) system that can alert parents if the student fails to scan in to the bus on the prescribed route.
This system could also be used for management of permission slips for students going home with friends, and help homeroom teachers determine which students came to school, but decided to skip class.
