I can hardly see the point for devices like this. If you are tech-savvy enough to host your own NAS locally, you might as well build your own NAS and install whatever user-friendly OS (Unraid, OpenMediaVault as an example) you wish. No vendor-lock in whatsoever that way. If you arent tech savvy enough, then you should probably use cloud storage anyway.
If you remove borders, you also have to remove social safety nets and other things which make rich countries better to live in than poor ones.
Sounds exactly like the labour market in Finland. The shortage is there, but only for jobs that either don't pay livable wage (or have junior-level pay to seniors), have horrible working conditions, or both. Doctors are the only exception, they have good pay and decent working conditions, and the shortage is caused by successful lobbying to keep university intake low.

Putin is looking to expand his country's borders quite similarly to Hitler, regardless of economic or human costs. It's up to rest of the world to show him the only thing he respects, which is power.

I don't understand why anyone would read Twitter regularly. The short limit in messages makes any intelligent discussion difficult, so nearly all tweets are either links elsewhere or nonsense. Either way, Twitter is by far the easiest of all social media giants to avoid.

Based on my observations the vast majority of "men" talking down girls in video games are teenager boys, most of whom eventually grow up and stop doing that. Admittedly some never grow up, perhaps they're more likely to be heavy gamers and even become game devs?
Anyway, I think any spaces dominated by teenagers will always be pretty toxic places, no matter if we're talking about schools or gaming servers. I have no idea what could be done about it, other than proper supervision by staff or server moderators.
Exactly. I would be okay with having only one child if everyone else did the same globally. But there's no point whatsoever if my unborn children will be just replaced by migrants from some society/culture where people have a lot of children, making room for more births in their country of origin.
It doesn't seem to be too much of work or uneconomical, here in Finland construction firms are already making large apartment buildings at least partially out of wood, smaller ones have been built from wood for thousands of years already. Apparently it can be also faster than concrete building, because you don't have to wait for the concrete to dry.
If this were to become a global trend, I think it could really absorb a lot of carbon while also reducing concrete emissions. Admittedly logistics could increase the costs for many parts of the world that lack forests with suitable wood.
Planting trees should be combined with sustainable harvesting, and using the wood material for building, replacing as much carbon emitting concrete as possible. The buildings should also be built and maintained so that they last as long as possible, effectively acting as long-term carbon sinks.
This way we could have both forests and urban areas acting as carbon sinks. Somebody should tell Americans and EU leaders that wooden buildings do indeed exist already.
It would make much more sense to build houses out of those logs instead of storing them on big piles. That way you can reduce concrete use in buildings, which itself is a major source of carbon emissions.
Log houses have been a thing for a LONG time in many parts of the world, and other types of wooden building exists as well. It seems like environmentalists have totally forgotten this obvious and superior form of carbon sink.
Here in Finland we're building even large blocks of flats from wooden materials these days. Yet the EU keeps telling us not to utilize our forests as much as we do now...
Highest material standard of living perhaps, not so sure about quality of life in general.
I think working hard only makes sense if you're adequately compensated and have prospects of career growth. Otherwise doing the bare minimum is the rational thing to do.
I guess the point is that they're content with what they have, even if it's just the bare minimum.
Politics of any kind should definitely be banned from work. Activist types that want to shove their ideology into other people's throat can definitely do that during their free time where other people can at least avoid their presence. There are always plenty of like-minded woke friends to be found from Twitter or r/socialism.
The thing is that nobody should care about what is considered racist term by some people in the UK or the US. Customs of the anglosphere most definitely shouldn't define and limit language and culture in rest of the world.
