There are functional Lisps, like Clojure or Shen, plenty of them are unopinionated / multiparadigm, like Emacs, Common Lisps

If your shoulders get tight from typing, consider using two keyboards or a (more expensive) split style.

Doesn't seem like it will prevent you from doing Language Oriented Programming, or advanced embedded Domain Specific Languages. Perhaps it's less ergonomic, I am not an R user.

Have you tried to see if Rockbox is suitable? [1]

I was unable to find if they support TXXX comment frames in MP3, but saw patches that make me lean towards (partially) 'supported'[2].
