Do we have gender studies graduates as modders? Seriously, this is getting annoying. I actually have a profitable start up that works in this area so I know my shit. Hackers really really need to kick this stupid stuff out soon or we all will be left for the worse.

You only need to go to Wikipedia to learn if it is hostile to women or not. Article like these are intentionally planted by vested interests to pump-up support for the movement and have absolutely no basis in reality.

Mistakes are pointed out so they can be avoided, not to blame.

Can you find where I have blamed the author of the article? You can't 'cuz I didn't.

Or you really really think that women shouldn't learn to protect privacy?

This is simply not true. The 'societal pressure' on women to be accommodating is the cost levied on women for being allowed to be judge and jury about how someone is treating them. To quote, 'with great power comes great responsibility'.

By missing the power part of the equation, you are creating a victim of responsibility.

In a world where women actually don't have to face any repercussion for being irresponsible, I think you are making a grave mistake.

A lot of people weren't probably editing Wikipedia when it was still young and cool and not a place to get abused for changing anything beside grammar. Let me tell you. Wikipedia is the way it is today because if it weren't, no body would use Wikia. After launching Wikia there has been a concentrated effort from the top to encourage new editors to open their own wikipedia or shove off. By its very mechanic, Wikipedia is now a den of socially unfit.

Yes but when would _that_ happen? Growth will slow down when: 1) Either they have captured almost all of the market 2) Or they have a better competitor which washes them away

Iff (1) happens, they will not go under as they will a 'large' bank and will most likely be 'too big to fail'.

And I don't think (2) is happening fast enough.

The thing is, PayPal code is a mess. And it is a mess that responds well to resources being thrown at it. For as long as PayPal keeps seeing growth, nobody wants to fix that mess.

Internally it really works like a bank - there are a couple of dev teams that are always under time crunch and rest of the company is basically busy politicking over the pie.

Except that women are 200% preferred over men on STEM.

The only discrimination and oppression is against men and the only harassment is for people who point out the data.

Btw, PhD students as well as professors have been ripped off since forever - it is what makes a lot of people leave academia. You only focus on Marie Curie or Rosalind Franklin etc. because they are women.

Men hate other men because they want to prove themselves - it is genetically wired among our brains. Women have been using that to select mates since the dawn of time. It doesn't make them immoral, but let us not got so much carried away that "facts" and "science" look less important to us.

Unfortunately they are not reporting any truth. Coverage of India in BBC, NY Times and western media in general is still only using Oriental tropes that are as much based on fact UK/USA are based in India. Which is to say, none at all.

Reality is that women are lot more autonomous and free to do what they want to do in rural areas as well as are men. Gender ratio is much much better in rural areas all over the India over urban "educated" westernized cities. (The same westernized Indians are actually the first one to criticize anything Hindu traditionalist or rural). Women work in fields as well as men. Of course in a traditional agrarian family based society of Indian villages, gender roles are defined - but they are defined for men as well as women and none are more oppressive than the other.

Unfortunately those are all nuances that don't sell well in English speaking people who are suffering from superiority complex.*

*Which includes English speaking Indians and foreigners.

The most surprising this I find is that there is a person who is known all over the world and who announces to the whole world that he is going to commit suicide and yet there is no support system in place to help him. Is there not a single person who knew where he lived? Who could have visited him? Who could have called him? What a shameful society you guys live in?

This is where women are smart. Random women support random women but men... what a shame...

If it did India would just reject the patent. Medicines command a special place in market economics and hence all the confusion. For example, there is whole segment of market in India that buys only Ayurvedic products, and there are big cosmetic companies that ensure their product is categorized as Ayurvedic instead of cosmetic.
