1. Any likely / impending changes (more demanding requirements, etc.) in law affecting the process from H1B to GC under current administration?

2. Any likely / impending changes (tighter restrictions, etc.) in the law affecting the process from GC to citizenship under current administration?

And don't forget: Facebook has been buying out every social media platform of any legitimacy (well, except Snap Inc.?) which might rise up to challenge it one day, especially at times like these.

With copious cash it has and no legitimate contender in sight, Facebook has a lot of time and opportunity to morph and adapt itself into a future platform.

I find this article's assessment kind of near-sighted, and naive.

As a fellow embedded developer who has read most of the materials, I will tell you this:

The operating systems class you took should have covered the core concepts in the papers.

In my opinion, most of the papers talk about how those core concepts came to be in the golden age of Operating Systems Research when it was booming in the same way AI/Machine Learning/Big Data is booming post 2000s. Read it at your leisure if you are interested in the backstory.

That said, the class is of teaching critical reading, critical thinking, presentation, proper discussion and critiquing of academic papers: just that the topic happens to be Operating Systems.

It is very cool to see that the class is being taught by a group of juniors/seniors (checked the top two, first one was a senior and second one was a junior), and an appointed faculty is listed only as a supervisor ....

I am really interested in the class outcome, and would love to hear what the students in class feel about this arrangement ....

I can see the good things about this. It gives the instructor/TA students an opportunity to grow while giving the peer-learning atmosphere to students in class. Plus, the students in class will learn from their peers who has the latest working knowledge of CUDA fresh in their heads, and this arrangement also frees up a faculty (or two) from having to prepare the course so that they can do their faculty/research work (prepping and teaching a class, especially an interesting and engaging one, is a really draining experience on the part of the faculty as well.)

Only downside I can see could be managing the class well enough so that class time is efficiently utilized. But I believe this should be covered by the faculty who is in supervisor position ....

LFS Instructions are not up-to-date or well-maintained lately ....

Plus, most LFS installs will be abandoned sooner or later after the tutorial ends anyways ....

I would recommend the uninitiated to start with Gentoo/Funtoo install for similar experience (albeit not as low-level as LFS would be). The up-side here is that they are real up-to-date / well-maintained distros, which one would end up using after the install experience ....
