That's an amazing fun fact.

naming the first "battery" (out of the concept of lined-up artillery)
That's an amazing fun fact.
I hereby give you permission to buy the book and read it for funsies.
Why is that a "yikes"? You don't always have to be "trendy".
I would even go so far as to say this is the general pattern of individuals learning models with explanatory power for dealing with reality. First, you learn the model, you try to apply it absolutely everywhere even in places where it won't work, you learn its limits, you then synthesize it into your holistic understanding along with every model you've learned thus far.
Hahaha my only experience with an "NVC" adherent was their absolutely terrible communication and workplace productivity habits.
I think this applies more generally
I would say the sky and a private eye's dimly lit, smoke-filled 1920s office are pretty different, actually.
They're ambiguous words when there's no reason to not be more specific, so either the speaker is lazy or intentionally trying to muddy the waters.
Are you really "doing things securely" when you use as many unsafe blocks as the Rust port of Bun does?
What's the point of rewriting it to Rust if you're going to, on purpose, disable the most prominent benefits of using Rust?
Sure, or maybe the actual applications of “AI” are small and unobtrusive, like the dictation of doctor’s notes example, and it’s not actually the massive revolution it’s claimed to be.
No, but they have the internet in the afterlife, apparently.
The new chat interface in google meets is hilariously bad. Doesn't even load half the time.
We're talking about validating the regex, which you have to do with your own skills, while LLMs are still wrong, some of the time.
Maybe a good time to bring up (again) the fact we don't impose enough liability risk on companies that collect data willy-nilly.
Probably because the entire article is the author describing themselves in a negative way.
So, how many "experiences" did you really have, if you crashed it shortly after?
Granted I don't have hair anymore but I've never driven in a convertible and felt a "breeze". Anything past 30 mph is...exactly what it is, like sticking your head out the window while driving.
Why do you need a different name?
The awesome power of the AI must be somehow contained by us mere mortals.
For me most things I do on a screen are fairly mentally stimulating (like video games), and even the ones that aren't (like watching a movie) inhibit the feeling of sleepiness I get when I abstain. So, it's better for falling asleep quickly.
In this example you're determining the speed of the car based on the wind flow on your hand. Putting the book in front might slow down the car, and it will probably also slow down the flow on the hand. However, if you still try to determine the speed of the car from the air flow on the hand, you'll probably be off, because car speed and wind flow aren't linked like that when the book is in the picture.
Is it being "invested" or is it being set on fire? Would you rather see capital be set on fire or hoarded?
I agree here. OP is taking a retail company's entire profit margin, which includes a lot of operating costs, and estimating that the AI subscription will have the same margin. The AI subscription is software though, it probably has the operating costs and profit margins of software.
What's funny is that humans do this too, but we don't find it irritating
I make fun of people all the time for shoehorning their favorite phrase into every context where it doesn't apply.
If it were so simple this would've been solved nation wide by Modi's 2014 address.
What? How is this supposed to work?
So he fed millions of profiles into a summarization machine and was surprised to find no sharp edges? Crazy work.
He's not very young, he just acts that way.
It's probably just a mistranslation, in some languages jet engines are called "reaction engines".
may have built observability dashboards and audit logs, but those are editable and partisan
Why would these be editable?
The great thing about not making any money in a department is that all the money-hungry people flee the org, and people who are more invested in "doing things right" stick around. The bad news, of course, is that you're not making any money, which is bad for your long-term survival.
