The main thing is that Digits is free. We are using it in our products. I hope Google doesn't have plans to earn money here

I have a public calendar where I mark time when I'm busy and nobody should interrupt me. During such period I turn off emails, skype, messengers, everything.

The only exception is something critical. If somebody come and ask a question, I tell like "I will answer in 1 hour, is it ok?". In 99.9% of cases the answer is YES

I've spent last 3 years working with Xamarin and native iOS and Android apps.

Xamarin wins if you need something for Enterprise. A lot of entry fields, validation, integrations with SSO, Sharepoint, other rest API. If you use MVVM well, it will lead to ~75% of code reuse between iOS and Android. Even more with XamarinForms. No complex effects, no complex animations, just enterprise.

Native wins if you want to make it more beautiful for end-users and you need to have a lot of customization. For example, customize map, pins and callout views. You will hate everything if you do it in Xamarin. No code reuse here

In general, Xamarin has very great chance to be #1 choise when you choose platform for Enterprise development.

I think Microsoft will end-of-life Xamarin Studio and will convert it to Visual Studio brand with just support of OSX and Linux

It is based on Xamarin Studio. I work with XS on OSX last 3 years. Unfortunatelly, Xamarin Studio has a lot of issues with performance, refactoring, it crashes from time to time.

I think it will be better to wait for release of Project Rider. At least EAP is already available
