I just got out of an unsuccessful attempt to start a hedge fund with several other quants. I am looking for a new project to adopt and this fits my interest.
I recently started playing with a ranked Twitter search engine in Django and would be happy to combine both projects in order to create a more useful thematic Twitter-powered knowledge base type of project by combining the ranks and group belongings of each twitterer.
HN's total traffic is 1/12th of TechCrunch's. I doubt HN visitors click on many ads, either. So I don't think our opinion will strongly affect TC's editorial policy. I'm sure their style is a very concious decision.
You can't downvote submissions and TC is great at linkbait headlines, which get upvoted before people read the actual post. That's the problem.
The claim that Smalltalk is dead is very much based on how many people use Smalltalk today - and the answer is very little. Arguing about Smalltalk's features, as awesome as they may be, does not refute the original presentation's point.

Cases that form precedents can be a caveat. They usually are less structured than legislature, so it can be harder to parse them. Perhaps the system would work better for non-common law legislatures. However, I believe that even in the US areas like corporate law would be less influenced by precedents.

you will need a day or two to get the hang of it, but once you do you won't ever want to go back. (you'll know when you start writing ":wq" in non-VI editors)
Why integrate this in YC instead of making a separate site for that? A bookmarklet will submit the app. form to the new site instead of YC and you are done.
