Even if you can afford to buy a home it isn't necessarily economical accounting in the opportunity cost of capital. This ofc varies across different times and situations regarding interest rates, regulation on mortgages in your jurisdiction, house prices and rent prices.

Why not ban gold as an investment too? It's just as much a zero sum game or gambling if you wanna call it that. Also a lot of resources wasted in storing it in bank vaults just sitting there for nothing.

I think individual actions might be required for a system change. It would be way easier fe. to put high taxes on animal products if people wouldn't be so used to only eating meat. One person giving an example of alternative ways to consume is shifting the culture of consumption around him/her and therefore making a system change easier.

I once lost my protonmail password and was able to get my account back by providing only my browser information, display name, rough timestamps of my requests to their servers and that "i preserved the last session for quite long time". Not sure how secure that was :d Of course I didn't get back any of the emails since they were encrypted with the previous password but still if that is their normal protocol, someone with my browser information and name could just mitm me recording the timestamps of requests to protonmail's server and request a password reset.
