Inmates describes most public school children pretty well though. You got your locked doors, your tall fences, your armed guards, and a limited time to spend in the yard…err playground.

The boomers pretty clearly want a 20-year paid vacation on the backs of everyone else. I’m not sure how the working class pays for half the population to do that.

Your argument is manipulative and fallacious. I doubt you have ever subscribed to the Atlantic.

1. Authors of articles do not necessarily reflect the viewpoint of the owners of a publication, except for articles clearly listed as editorial and representing the authors.

2. It is possible to believe that Twitter had become a racist alt-right hellsite (hint, it has) and yet want to connect with readers or potential readers. This is a commercial decision.

3. I’m curious what you think legacy media is doing since you provide no details and the rest of your post suggests you share some disturbing opinions on “MSM.”

The first study has 3 patients. The second study is a little better, but not by much. Both have the same first author. If this were legitimate, some academic medical center in the US would have picked it up. Parkinson’s is a huge target, and this kind of thing makes a career. This is likely on the same level as horse dewormer for COVID.

This explains the growth in the low end but not the lack of decent mid-range options. We no longer have good/better/best. We only have shitty/best and one is 10x the price of the other. Of course Joe Blow isn’t going to spring for the 10x option; he can’t afford it. In the min-maxing of profit margins, we’ve lost the pretty ok. Also I didn’t blame the corporations man; I specifically blamed market consolidation, greedy investors, and the output of HBS.

It’s part of a broader trend of enshittification that has hollowed out the middle. I blame the concentration of market power in the hands of a few large companies, mostly privately held. So you can pay far more for something good, or you can resign yourself to replacing the garbage everyone sells these days in the rapacious pursuit of shareholder value extraction.
