I'm pretty much at the same point of refusing to do any actual coding on an interview and for pretty much the same reasons. Really like the option of an offline code test followed by discussion of the solutions or a small contract. But it's pretty rare for companies to actually do this, since nearly everyone now follows Google's model.

Easy solution to that is to discuss the work/code in the interview.

This seems to only explain a single faulty recharge, due to the customer using the service with a zero balance and triggering the charge attempt. Why would there be multiple recharge attempts? Was the customer using the service in that period multiple times triggering each of the recharge attempts or was it the code re-trying the transaction? If it was the code why would it restart the transaction from the top instead of just the part that failed - the balance update?

Don't startup advisors like Tim Ferris do basically the same thing? Advice/market/time for a small amount of equity? The only difference here seems to be that it's developer skills instead.

RSS articles usually have links to other articles. So, reading on a browser saves a context/app switch if I want to follow a link. Also why I feel youtube/twitter etc is better on the browser.

I'd thank you for weeding me out though. I like reality. Don't like happy rainbow snowflake dreamland, which you've just outed your company as. Since such things never last.

I don't spend the whole time on my phone. I don't do social networks and also usually turn off the sound for email notifications as well. But when I do actually need the abilities of the phone, it's there. There's nothing quite like wondering about that bright star on the horizon and then just waving your phone at it and getting the full details. Or getting to know when the next tram/bus home is, before you leave the coffee shop/club. Or grabbing a picture of that rare double rainbow.

I also don't like planning or sticking to plans when going out (how much fun is that anyway?). But I do like to get information on the go, for whatever I decide to do.

Contrastingly, I don't like the fact that I'm next to my computer all day. I'd rather have a smartphone and be out and about the town or in nature. Laptops increasingly feel old-tech and kludgy to me.

It might interest you to know that this is how women generally talk amongst themselves (not to other men). It's a skill and the Woz seems to be great at it. I feel he actually pushed the interviewer into this mode when he upped the emotional content to a very high level (not sticking to the usual male platitudes) and she was quite caught up by it. It was a moment of human connection. And I thoroughly enjoyed it too. Possibly most women would say this was an exciting interview and that a normal question answer thing would sound dull and boring to them in comparison.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the woman in the video felt a physical attraction to Woz and also felt a need to touch/hold him just to release the pressure of the emotions they were generating. I felt that too.

The video had that as a slide. Even at $500, the point remains that they are not positioning it as a midrange phone.

A mid-range consumer phone that costs $1000? I don't think so.

Amazon doesn't need to distribute an app for the Sony reader touch. Just the books themselves in epub format instead of their current kindle/mobipocket format.
