Yes i remember! Back in the 80s didn’t he document his journey and had a best seller . I bought that book. Was called “Computing Across America.” Started the whole digital nomad trend of trekking across long distances and blogging it etc etc. Hahaha I mean the guys bike had crazy inspector gadget type gadgets! Like a computer, a ham radio, a satellite link, and a fax machine of all things and then went 17k miles across the Us. totally rad for it’s time lol.

Big techs like google and meta are always violating privacy laws, yet they face minimal consequences and can simply pay fines as a cost of doing business. Additionally, the current privacy laws are inadequate to address the complex ways in which these companies use personal data. No way to win this at its current state , with the way privacy laws are written and applied . I think many already figured this to be true. But I think the way industry will change is as there is more awareness and outrage it will shape the end users like you and me who care about our privacy, to protect it on our own by using new technologies to block data or hide our activity etc. We will promote user privacy through technological solutions. That’s the effective way at least until laws and behavior of these tech companies change
