"Your account was created 30 days ago."

True. Nice observation.

"You've described yourself as a liberal just not a Dem apologist. Can you please keep your origin story straight for the next 30 day"

I'm not sure what you mean by this...what is the "origin story" you speak of that you apparently know so much about? I haven't contradicted myself about it.

Yeah...But don't tell the party loyalists on either side about it.

Dem pundit: "It's the uneducated white cis male patriarchy that wants the south to rise again..."

GOP pundit: "Those minority transgender liberals want to take your guns and religion..."

Oligarchy: smiles

"Have you ever been somewhere where it was clear everyone noticed you didn't 'fit in'?"

Yes, being an actual liberal in SV and not just a Dem apologist...

"In regards to targeting young women, they're making an effort to redress the obvious gender imbalances and male dominance of the tech world."

It could be that they are just virtue signaling and trying to appease the easily offended bloggers and tech "journalists"

It seems like this post was just some jargon-filled bullshit and a cheap attempt at promotion for delighted.com

Nothing to see here...Moving on

"Organize a community of Open Source developers who want to build tools to help local Democratic parties and clubs."

...this may be an unpopular opinion, but even though the GOP is atrocious, the Dems haven't really given us a good reason to give them our support either. That's the hard part for me anyway, I can't in good conscience lend support to either of two ruling parties.

"Use our community to bring the voice of the Open Source community to our elected leaders and government."

...just so the DNC "leaders" can collude behind closed-door meetings to push whatever candidate and corporate agenda they want on us come election time, hoping we'll turn out no matter how disappointing the candidate.

"That said, the question is about the (to me) bizarre defensiveness of Trump voters. Your team won, and has a freer hand than most presidents ever get. Why are you pretending you're oppressed?"

Is this addressed to me?

“The best way for the industry to tackle this problem is to deliver compelling ad experiences that consumers won’t want to block.”

Good luck trying to find a "compelling" way to sell paper towels, laundry detergent, and unhealthy food.

Serious question, why would anyone sign up for this "smart" alarm clock service that fines you if you hit the snooze button?

"Disruption" and "innovation" at its finest...

I'm so tired of seeing all the blog posts and comments that think our problems are due to Trump and Republicans instead of taking a look at our own "progressive" party. Sure, Trump and the GOP are fucked up, but so are the Dems and the tech community seemed perfectly fine fawning over our "tech president" when he was bailing out the billionaires, expanding state surveillance powers, and ordering the murder of thousands with drones.

Whenever I mention how the corporate Dems have been selling us out for years and we need to light a fire under their ass to work for our interests, I'm immediately ostracized from my fellow "progressives."

Don't forget to add alternative views from the left either (most have FB pages or Twitter feeds). Some of my favorite are: Counterpunch, Libcom, Mother Jones, Truthdig, and on the more "cheeky" side, I'd check out r/LateStageCapitalism.

Where were you when Obama, who got elected primarily by people who opposed to the recklessness of Wall St, continued with the Bush bailouts, ordered the murder of thousands via drones, and supported policies that increased the transfer of wealth to the top 1%?

Trump is horrible, but so was Obama...How come all these HN "progressives" did little Obama was screwing the country over?

P.S. I like your site, awesome job!

"If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever."
