Its to be expected in very poor countries with a dictatorship masquerading as government.

The people don't have first world problems which they complain about from a chair on the internet.

They live harsh lives with zero perspectives and are somewhat grateful the government doesn't turn more violent or oppressive .

Then some event triggers a no point of return scenario where the people fear prison or death less than the potential future.

Indeed, often people have said the FBI runs this and that. But this is not cost efficient, the agencies can just subpoena the businesses for data, simple as that. No hacking, no developing etc.

It's pretty efficient, if the government announced they would save some files on all citizens, it would be widely unpopular. So let the people use the services they consent to use, let the businesses collect as much data as possible, the more, the merrier.

And when the need for these resources arises, subpoena the business, they'll even do the search for them.

I have seen some very sophisticated bots generating Instagram content, it's always similar, but avoids detection, obviously (proven by the presence of the profiles).

I wonder what would happen if people sent messages to each other on how to delete the fb account, or if a similarly good bot would do that. After all, it's just a post.

Today I've seen Zuckerbergs reply to the accusation of posting enraging content, he said it doesn't make sense to claim so as the advertisers don't want to see their ads on enraging content. Typical, total liar. The ads are posted to neutral or non enraging content, while the enraging content gets no ads or only from the advertisers which don't mind.

True, the swiss government has bent over in all directions imaginable regarding the banking secret once a powerful enough entity pressured them. Forget hosting, VPNs or email providers from Switzerland.
