This is incredibly common. I installed an analytics package on my personal heroku account for a side project and received an email on my enterprise email account from their sales department.
My personal heroku account uses my personal email address, eg. jbob@gmail.com, but my enterprise account uses my full name, eg. jonathan.bob@bigco.com.
There's a sneaky CRM tool floating around that is connecting the dots on people.
I think one way to define math is “the collection of symbols we use to precisely explain natural phenomena”.
I can say “that rose is very pink” and that is accurate enough for most people. But if I want to know how much pink there is in the rose, I need a better descriptor than “very”.
So in that sense, Math is made up. It’s just the language we use to describe stuff when spoken/literary languages are imprecise.
But it also isn’t made up because there are objective justified truths behind its symbols. Aliens would probably have the same concepts, they’d just use different symbols.
Mailers can’t risk getting blocked. Misinformation often looks like spam and needs to spread quickly in order to work. The people behind this type of media don’t care if they get blocked after the messages go out, they’ve already done their damage and can move on to the next service.
I did this for a while, the problem is that there's really no such thing as a high-quality USB switch. They are all garbage and mess with USB devices in some way (at least at the consumer level).

There's a fantastic game out right now called Hades from Supergiant Games (of Bastion fame, this one could comfortably be called "Bastion 2.0") which does this roguelite-action-rpg genre very well. /r/ConsumeProduct was antisemtic? I never saw that in the posts of theirs that made the front page. It was always memes about over-consumption, they might make fun of disposable make-up wipes for example ("And when you're done, just throw it away!" cue gallery yelling in a robotic voice: CONSUME PRODUCT).
Genuinely curious what the link to antisemitism is. Is the thought that consumerism = big business, and big business = "the jews"?

The message this sends to girls is that if you’re pretty, this is the easiest way to make a lot of money. It damages the work of people who have spent decades trying to get women to be valued for things other than their bodies.
Just to add to this comment; It's one thing for software developers in the government or a large "essential" corporation like a bank or telecom company to unionize. Those places get toxic because the work has to be done and gets very political because of the sheer number of people's lives they affect. I understand the labour issues around working for those organizations.
But kickstarter? You mean the funding apparatus for indie games and gimmicky consumer products? That's where you want to unionize?
I think you should put on your sales hat. I know you said that you are the "coder" and your partner is the sales person, but I think you should start selling and supporting them. Trying cold calling and cold emailing. Use some money for a marketing push.
Use the stress of your short runway to push you to sell. Every conversation you have with potential customers should be about how you can get them to pay. Talk past their requests for features or whatever, something like "This is a great feature that we are working on for you and if you sign up for a year's service, we'll discount you until the feature is delivered".
You don't understand how fickle technology is and how fickle users are. It's a browser plugin, it takes 2 seconds to uninstall. This entire company could disappear in a flash if something about the plugin ecosystem changes, or if e-commerce habits change to be more mobile oriented. They have absolutely 0 stickiness. Most of their users probably installed the plugin during their initial marketing push and have forgotten to turn it off.

Can confirm, hated homework. I understood things too quickly so I never had push myself to learn, thus homework felt like a chore or a petty punishment.
This burned me later in life because “remembering what the teacher said yesterday” and “using other test questions to answer the current question” only gets you so far.
Compare this to the real world. You are in a store and your child heads to the counter with $3,000 worth of goods. He puts your credit card on the counter. At this point, the clerk would ask if mommy or daddy were around and probably would deny the purchase.

What do you consider actual work?
I work for a bank, and internally, we refer to ourselves as the worst run software company possible. You could remove 80% of our staff and our clients would not notice at all - the remaining 20% are all that's needed to support the services and make quality updates.
I spend a lot of time keeping that 80% away from the 20% so that stuff actually gets done. I don't really do any work per se, but if I didn't do my job, nobody else would be able to do theirs. It's hard to quantify.
Some of those issues are issues that all populations face (death from disease, government bureaucracy, policing, destruction of environment). I don't think its fair to claim that these are intentional parts of a genocide.
There definitely were some bad policies in the past (residential schools, no oversight on medical care, lack of diversity in policing), but the rest is just a culture clash between two completely incompatible cultures. That's not a genocide, it's just a shitty side effect of two cultures trying to find a way to be compatible with one another.
I call this method of team building the "island of mistfit toys", it is something I practice on my team since I was a misfit toy myself.
I disagree that training juniors keeps them loyal. When you bring someone the island of misfit toys and they get some experience and success, they no longer see themselves as a misfit toy. But when they come in to the office in the morning, they look all around them and see misfit toys. But I am not a misfit toy any more! I can leave the island now!
Misfit toys are hungry people! They want to prove that they can do it, since by all other metrics they should not be able to. And once they have proven they can do it, they leave to find better appreciation of their talents.

Wrong, that is a loss of 10% market share. In other markets, a drop like that would put you out of business. Valve isn't dead, they're just a bit ill and if they don't go to the doctor and get their head checked, it will kill them.

If I work in a coal mine, but don't die due to a cave-in, congrats! I get to live to 65. But my lungs are weak from years of breathing dust and fumes, and during a hot, humid summer, I suffocate and die. 10 years before my wife, who spent most of her years raising our children and volunteering at the church.
This is a stupid made-up story, I know, but my point is that there are so many ways our jobs affect our health. Men do dangerous work, it doesn't have to kill us immediately, but it does take us early.

Counter argument: the generic hygiene products that most companies would stock would get rarely used because they aren’t the preferred size/brand or don’t have needed features. And software shops are often in cities where a local drugstore is right around the corner, where people can get their preferred products.
Spend the money on cleaning the washroom 3x a day instead. That will make people happy at all times of the month. And provide employees with lockers or a large drawer to store whatever personal products they may need.
Essentially all this does make the property owner pay a protection fee to prevent their property from being bought by someone else.
It's a terrible system because a billionaire could come in and scoop up thousands of people's property for pennies (assuming they set their property price low because they can't afford tax when they set it higher).

You make a lot of grand statements there without backing anything up. If it was so convenient and cheap to cook this way, then everyone would be doing it.
I have tried and tried and tried to cook like you suggest. I end up wasting food as it goes bad before I can use it. I have a small apartment and ended up going to the grocery store every 2 days to restock. Some ingredients aren't sold in quantities appropriate for 1-2 people, so things go stale or expire before they get fully used. I wasted way more food attempting to change my food practices than I did maintaining the way I was raised.
I'm skeptical about farm shares, I don't think it scales. If it became more popular, you'd had everyone hopping in their cars every weekend and driving out to a farm. Much more efficient to load everything on 1 transport truck than to have a thousand cars on the road just for picking up produce. And in winter climates, you aren't growing anything in the ground, so this produce is being shipped in to the farm anyways, just ship it to the grocery stores. Or it's being grown indoors, which requires increased energy usage (might be less energy intensive to ship veggies in on a truck than to grow them indoors?).
Our modern food system, for all of its faults, is the only thing that works for everybody. Poor people? Disabled people? Car-less people? Dietary restrictions? All covered. Your diet and way of living works for wealthy, healthy people with time on their hands. It's not realistic at all.

Yes, they're true to the labeling requirement, but they are not true to reality - there IS sugar in there. Get a person with diabetes to eat a bucketful and then try to tell me there is 0g of sugar in them.
It hurts to watch you child starve because they are being picky. I had a teacher tell me she didn't want to eat peas one night, so her father sent her to bed hungry. She woke up a few hours later, went downstairs to her cold plate of peas still on the table, and ate the whole thing.
I had a classmate in high school who ONLY ate pancakes and fries. He was from a wealthy family and his mother had various supplements she would put in the pancakes to keep him healthy. We went on a week long canoe trip where you obviously can't eat pancakes and fries 24/7. 3 days in, this guy is starving, and for the first time in his life had pasta, trailmix, and eggs.
Children don't have fully developed faculties for reasoning, you can't take a reasonable approach to solving pickiness. Things seem to taste better the hungrier you get, so I think the approach to pickiness is to starve them out.
