Sounds like buyers remorse, not that you were swindled.

You wanted "access to a wider range of consumer goods and services" you got that access. Now that you want to save money instead means that you just changed your mind... again.

I hope you apply the same logic to the homeless that move into your local parks and community areas. They are just trying to seek economic advantage, wealthy people have more money to give. It normal to strive for maximum return on minimal output.

It just makes him human.

Upper class white people

Your racism is showing.

Upper class people like Cocaine too, care to inject a racial undertone as to why that is illegal?

Long winded article and it doesn't even answer the question.

Rent in NYC is high because people are paying it.

Your pay is low because you decided it is. Lots of CEOs think their pay is low too as they drive a new Lexus off the dealership lot.

Another important factor to consider;

I am small troll A suing company B. I lose, judge orders that troll A pay all the legal fees. I don't have the money, I file bankruptcy, I flee the country.

Lawyers still want to get paid. I doubt any legal team will just chase some random around into collections because "loser pays"

employer has already refused to invest in you, no?

Obviously you are omitting the myriad of cases that an employer would like to invest in you but can't (yet) from your statement. Plenty of things like a lack of funding, individual ability, market timing, etc. prevents them from investing in you.

If I was waiting for the cash flow to move someone from A to B, and was working diligently to do so, to then have them state they are looking elsewhere for the B position, I would clearly re-evaluate my candidate selection as they may be gone by the time I get the opportunity to promote.

It's still amazing how much we determine maturity by numerical age and not maturity or experience.

Point being, pretending to be off put by a reasonable and logical thing doesn't make you correct.

The logic is a mess here.

A) Nobody is mad that a mail boy makes $75k. They are mad that they carry more of a workload than a mail boy but are rewarded with identical compensation.

B) It bolsters stagnation. $75k is great pay for mail room work. I should buy a bigger house, more TV's, enjoy this life. Never shall I be bothered with professional growth again!

C) Mail room workers don't generate or assist in $75k of revenue for the company, they generate or mitigate costs of drastically less. Therefore we are now working for a company that is forced to needlessly pass the costs on to our customers.

All this crazy pay is fun if you are in a tech bubble or in a single city in California where everyone can be this 'innovative' but the fact is, most people aren't able to contribute to a cause to the tune of $75k/yr.

The FedEx Problem 11 years ago

I'm in love /w this post! Not only is it informative but it clearly expresses the differences between decision making in real-world scenarios and delving deep into the data for an 'on-paper' optimal decision.

Maybe you should consider adjusting your understanding of poor too.

Holy crap, I haven't been there in awhile. It's almost torture to see such trash on the front page. Soon I will go there to get my TMZ updates about the hollywood stars or rappers who did something, maybe, possibly tangentially related to tech?

Your posts are fairly thematic in the sense that you are always willing to do less or need more resources to accomplish the task.

More manpower, more money/pay or more time off isn't the definitive answer to problems.

At the end of the day, an employee who is as rigid as you present yourself to be is the kind you hope jumps ship ASAP. It seems like you are the austist type who would complain that they wont be getting a greater variety of snacks in the break room because managers said "We will have to do with less" after being shut down by their managers.
