I've heard that AWS is implementing a Captcha service soon, so keep on the lookout for that. But I suggest this one because it looks easy to setup and is decent enough since it supports math captchas. https://www.phpcaptcha.org/
Use http://textnow.com if you need an incoming/outgoing phone number. It's free also. If you just want calling, and you care about open-source and security, use Riot. http://riot.im/app and if you want something a little more simple I suggest ooVoo.
If it is their intellectual property now, then yes. Even if they aren't actually mad at you for using it, protecting assets is a part of business. Valve did this quite a few times.
