I've never said they should, they are free to implement any anti-ad-block for all I care. I just pointed out their lack of honesty about the source of the problem, they should say they are actively blocking the extension rather than the extension is malfunctioning.

iirc they generated really bad and unmaintainable code (no css classes, absolute position, etc...), unlike (imo) modern LLMs.

Big part of why FE system are so complex now is because we moved a lot from BE to FE, especially state management. I dont think it is possible to get back to session cookies and keep the "infinite" horizontal scaling that modern BE have.

I wont likely find the video but I remember watching the PM for both VSCode and VS (at the time was the same one, not sure now) recommending people to move to Visual Studio "eventually". I clearly remember it because it didn't make any sense, even if the names were similar there were/are nothing alike UI-wise and supported-language-wise. I said few years ago but it was prob around 8 years ago, vsc was still pretty young.

I tried last year but was a bit scared on how many switchs/NICs/cables are vendor-specific.

I bought a 10/5/2.5/1 gbps MikroTik CRS304-4XG-IN switch relative cheap recently, quite happy with it.
