Looking at the diagram I’d suspect they use accelerometer information from both the wrist watch and the upper arm mounted sensor to remove the effects of arm motion. At simplest it could only check when the arm is in a neutral position. But I’d expect they did something more complex/better than that.
Agreed that this is a big advantage. I’ve switched to having a separate set of serialization objects with straightforward copy constructors or mapping functions and let the serialization library do the job against those. I used to hand roll the serialization, but this is admittedly user.

Fluorosis is a condition where there’s so much flourine in the water that one’s teeth start getting brownish yellow spots. That’s not the level used in most water supplies. The study itself groups slight fluorosis areas with nonfluorosis as having no effect. Glad to see this mentioned! I worked on open sourcing the unified highlighter for Bloomberg along with Lucene/Solr committer David Smiley. It’s a very important feature for longer documents--in our case legal documents. We gave a presentation about it at Lucene/Solr Revolution in 2016.[1]
