There is a worrying trend of trying to force changes of vocabulary (not only this one) and to purge history for ideological purposes and we're also seeing people suffering for not embracing that trend or, worse, criticising it (as I wrote this is getting close to "public denunciations").

These are dynamics very similar, albeit not as extreme, to what happened during the Cultural Revolution and other campaigns in the USSR/Eastern Europe during the 20th century.

Fighting racism is a good cause, of course. But arguably so what fighting against feodalism and the exploitation of the working class, and see what happened...

It's one thing to be all "we comply with local laws", and another to enforce one country's geopolitical aspirations across international borders.

Not 'whataboutism', but just to generalise on this: The US do this all the time. I believe that in US law the US criminal law has universal jurisdiction, and they also use the fact that they are such a large and important market that companies will have a presence and assets in the US so they that they'll have to comply (which interestingly is exactly what China is often accused of doing.) Not to mention that they are powerful enough to 'suggest' how to behave to other countries, and we're also seeing that all the time.

So fundamentally I think we're seeing China becoming powerful enough to behave internationally the way the US do, and that is something the US are not used to, being used to being the only superpower in town.

Master/slave is a very clear analogy and is used extensively for example about hardware interfaces.

The point here is the same as in 1984. It is aimed at suppressing 'incorrect' thoughts. It is totalitarian and we see society moving that way more and more.

Master/slave was chosen on purpose because it is very clear, clearer than the alternative you suggest, and is no more offending that using Knight, gladiator, etc.

Sometimes we must realise that an issue lies with the people who are offended by anything and everything, not with what offends them.

Absolutely, and this occurs all the time. Something happens in the US especially, but perhaps also Western Europe and it is spun into a huge issue. Something worse happens somewhere and it is barely reported, if at all.

This is the sad irony of making a huge fuss of "black lives matters" when really they (or non-Armerican/non-Western) don't. What matters is the American village.

This is virtue-signalling and will actually anger, as it always does, many who are not part of the worthy few.

These terms are used to troll and insult posters some people disagree with, not to criticise or to have any substantive discussion.

It's like trying to pass off calling someone "Yankee MF" as criticism of the American government...
