Or like the people who are unable to have jobs, even programming ones, despite being very skilled at it, because their aspergers causes them so many problems that they cannot work in an environment with other people or to deadlines, so, instead they are stuck unemployed, living at home, and terrified about what happens when their parents die and how they will cope, while people make fun of them for being basement dwellers.

2500 raids, 230 illegal weapons?

We could say "Oh, this means there were almost 10 illegal weapons at every raid", but, they were not evenly distributed, just like raiding every house in a dodgy estate will turn up a lot of illegal items, but most of them will be centered in a small % of properties, so, yeah, for 2500 raids, most of them will have returned nothing.

No, it says that they cannot work at detention settings which are in violation of the US constitution or international law.

If it is legal, ethical interrogation, then it is not in violation of the US Constitution, or international law

It even says they can provide general consultation on issues related to humane information gathering

There was a time..so I hear, where nobody used email.

How come people simply cannot avoid using it?

If you have a non-internet way for my computer illiterate parents to see photos of their grandchildren on different continents, please let me know

Carbohydrates are not "added sugar".

High-sugar fruits are not "added sugar".

Added sugar = sugar which is added to a product, and shows up on the ingredient list.

The only fruits you would worry about is fruit juice, because good luck eating 10-12 apples in one session, but you can drink 10-12 apples worth of juice without any problems.

Unless the bully then brings his friends (and they usually have more "friends" than their targets) to have a go at the person who hit them.

I was bullied to shit at school, all anonymously (pre-internet era)....urine soaked chocolates put through my front door, cans of drink emptied and refilled with urine, someone even fired an air rifle through my front door one weekend..not all bullying is "easily" solved by retaliating in kind, and punching someone will have fairly heavy consequences as an adult, so perhaps it is best to learn other ways of dealing with it..."But he started it" does not cut it if someone bullies you at work.

(incidentally, I later found out that it was my "friends" who had been doing this)

I saw the data you linked, but I don't see the "poor".

From what I see, they make up a range of demographics and educational levels.

As to why they did not bring their families over in the first place? That is usually because they want to make sure they have somewhere to stay before bringing their families over.

Bigger picture. The population of Europe as a whole is 740 million or so. Even if the entire population of Syrian pitched up in Europe (20 million or so), it would be under 5% of the population. The actual numbers of refugees is around 5 million, so less than 1%. You are trying to suggest that 1% of the population is a "demographic shock"?

The problem arises when the refugees are concentrated in a few countries, and then other nations use the crowding and chaos there as an excuse not to take any.

"Men without solid economic recourse", as per my previous point, these individuals span the entire socio-economic range, and have a wide range of skills. If they are able to gain employment (Many countries do not allow refugees to work) then I do not see why they would not have solid economic recourse.

I always think that being rich and/or famous must make life a PITA.

Sure, you have money to do whatever you want, but, those friends you have? You sure they are your friends, and not the friends of your wallet?

Those people you trust, you sure you still trust them not to make a quick buck from selling stories about you?

Want to head out while looking like crap? Sure you want those photos posted all over the media with the accompanying headlines about how you have let yourself go?

There is a saying about how the best way to enjoy a sunrise is by sharing it with someone....no amount of money can make that happen.

The accuracy?

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/who/accuracy/forecasts

There are local variations which mean for example, that if you live in the welsh valleys, someone on one side can be having sun, while on the other side (and in view) there is rain.

The met office does forecasts for a broad area, if you want hyperlocal, wunderground is where I go. The met office could also run forecasts for each london borough, but I doubt you or anyone else would sit through a hyperlocal forecast on the news.

To imply that Christians or gun owners are in the least bit persecuted in the US is stretching the meaning of the word to include "People expressing different opinions to me".

Just because legislation that you do not agree with is implemented (Checks on individuals before they can buy a gun, or rights of homosexuals to get married for example) this is not persecuting a group.

To imply so is disingenuous.

If you look at each country individually within the UK, it shows the correct details.

I suspect it is because in the original law, there were nuances such as "The privacy restrictions of the Act meant a third person could not be present and that gay men could not have sex in a hotel. These restrictions were overturned in the European Court of Human Rights in 2000"

If people were concerned about the highest salary available to them, we would not have academics and NGOs.

People are motivated by different things. It is not better or worse to be primarily motivated by a salary that exists in one place, but, if you want a Silicon Valley salary, then perhaps Silicon Valley is the place that you should work.

1) This happens at other universities, including ones in Europe. Imagine walking the same corridors as Newton walked, or being taught by professors who currently work at CERN. 2) Most top tier universities would have this, imagine being college roommates with the next Stephen Hawking or Prime Minister. 3) The pedigree depends on what you are studying, and other nations have their own prestigious universities

I agree.

I am also in Denmark, and my university has a number of students from eastern Europe, Russia, South America, Iran, China, as well as those on scholarships from developing nations, and exchange students from the US and Canada.

(I suspect we may have attended the same university, as mine also focused heavily on semester projects (50% of the ECTS) and group work)

Drug dealers tend to handle the drugs they are convicted of selling.

Whilst I agree he deliberately set up a website designed for use for criminal transactions, I find it ridiculous that everyone (including the courts) would rather focus on people buying drugs online (if that was their big thing, then many of the major early newsgroup operators would be in prison for life, for having not even concealed names for newsgroups deliberately designed for buying and selling drugs), than on the selling of stolen credit cards and other identity theft sales.

Sure, drugs are bad m'kay, and we have to stomp on people who use, buy and sell them or something, but, how many lives are destroyed by identity theft? Or do the courts think that is too complicated for people to understand, whilst the "He let drugs be sold on his website" is something even Fox News can communicate.

Well, it helps if you are sentenced for things you are convicted of then.

Because, even by the "Hang them by the neck until they are dead" gung-ho standards, you generally have to be convicted of something before being punished for it.

Or, it could be your best estimate, based on current traffic conditions or walking speed.

I always underestimate how long it will take, this does not mean I am lying, it means I am bad at guessing how long it takes me to walk/drive/sit in a train somewhere

People tend to react strangely when they see a picture they did not know was being taken, or hear a recording that they were not aware was being made, even if completely innocent.

I think (from the latest uploads), Kevin would be easily able to identify his friends, and that sort of recording can easily go viral with the whole clickbait of "Asian-Americans making fun of a friend for not being Asian enough"
