I get you’re trying to make some argument about the roles we take, ultimately, because of our personal decisions in life situations, but complying with a robbers demands does not make me complicit in the crime. Those are two different concepts.

One of my favorite parts of visiting family in Puerto Rico is the ability to stop almost anywhere and pick up a free, fresh mango/passion fruit/papaya/etc.. It’s a beautiful thing to experience nature providing at such scale

It’s a fair point that the internet and in particular civilian watchdogs on said internet have given us great tools in the fight for transparency but it can also be argued that the internet and its anonymous nature has created a whole new kind of misinformation/propaganda problem which governments are exploiting other (and many times their own) citizenry. This lessens the impact of the previously mentioned transparency boons and imo strengthens the idea that you can never trust government.

I haven’t played demon souls but if they’re like the other mindflayer equivalents that fromsoft has made for their other games (the lanterns from bloodborne come to mind or the Elden ring dlc insta kill madness guys) they absolutely do instantly kill players with some mind based shenanigans.

Im not sure why that’s a common sentiment but I disagree that unguided exploration in music is not conducive to productive learning. Or maybe you’re just talking specifically about classical piano which I guess sure that makes sense but the piano is way more versatile than that and I encourage anybody to pick up a keyboard and just explore. You’ll be shocked how much you can accomplish and theory is always there to learn later once it becomes relevant to you.

Yes because getting your child taken away is a more immediate visceral sort of injustice than (usually unknowingly) damaging their mental health. Most parents would have their kid fucked up than not at all even if the chances of losing your kid are lower. Idk ymmv but that’s what I’ve observed

More specifically, peoples purchases are not governed by any economic logic but instead their emotions and companies know and will exploit this. I don’t care what the tolerance is on a Lego piece if I’m going to pay the price of a new computer for some shaped plastic it better be able to do my taxes at least

I dunno man there are plenty of smart people that have simply been misled or are in circumstances where they’re more easily prone to fall into these kinds of traps. Nice and good people too. It feels cruel to not spend at least a little time helping them help themselves. At the end of the day of course it’s your decision what you wanna waste time on but it’s I find it’s a worthwhile pursuit for those I’ve bonded with

I know there are plenty of other examples of governments not trusting their constituents but it’s little stuff like this that really highlight that divide to me. Always go over the local populace and botches simple plans while overspending when many people are willing to solve the problems through volunteering but are never afforded the opportunity to.

There is a huge bias against homeless populations throughout the states. They’ve been depicted and demonized unilaterally as drug users and law breakers/undesirables but that couldn’t be farther from the truth for many many people. Homelessness is the direct result of a societal failure to secure our populations basic needs and that means we are all to blame to a certain extent. They are people from our communities that we’ve sidelined and largely ignored but nobody likes to think they’re the bad guy.

Nah dude it really is as easy as eat less = lose weight. In all cases if you reduce your food consumption you will eventually weigh less this is thermodynamics 101. Nobody has to drink Soylent green mush or even just salads. Just eat less. And maybe go for a run here and there that helps too.
