It also might have a huge point where just because you thought you were in MIT that you weren't there by luck and was smart enough.

This was a fun problem. On the other hand, I felt cheated when Vidit Drolia of Yammer gave this problem and expected it to be common knowledge enough to be solved in 3 minutes. Don't think it's quite that much of a valid interview problem.

Yes, such that you should probably try hard enough that it doesn't accidentally hurt your chances in the future, but not as much that it should despair you from always improving yourself.
