Kraken has been trading crypto coins since 2011. Why did it take the SEC so long to bring this suit?

Yes, the exchanges are 3rd parties that could lose, and often do lose, the money
The Not Just Bikes YT channel recently observed that building new walkable neighborhoods in the US and Canada is not legal.
The existing pre-war walkable neighborhoods are all we are going to get and they are expensive. We made walking to school a thing for rich kids.
I was a holder of UST in anchor protocol. I was aware the peg was shaky, but my yield farm output UST so I went with it.
I do think vision habits matter for near sightedness. The human eye, like all mammal eyes, seems adapted for far vision. To bring the focal point in, the ciliary muscle must contract to change the shape of the eye. When it relaxes, the focal point goes back out far away.
In the environment for which we are adapted, most time was spent focusing far away. In the modern world, a person may spend all day, every day, for years on end, focusing on things close up like books and screens. If the ciliary muscle is always contracted, it can get stuck; over time, even change the shape of the eyeball from constant pressure such that the cornea focuses too far in front of the retina, making the image blurry.
Perhaps I was too quick to get glasses when things first started looking blurry. If I had known, I would have tried to get the ciliary muscle to relax by focusing on things far away for at least a time every day. Instead, I went right to the minus lenses but kept my lifestyle of close up work all the time. This led to hyperopic defocus, meaning my ciliary muscle had to continue to contract to focus on near objects through the minus lens.
About 7 years ago I had the thought of improving my vision habits. I will spare HN the details, but my vision (optometrist confirmed) has improved from about -3.5 diopters to -2.25 diopters. I can now do things without glasses including working on the computer, cooking, and reading, for which I am grateful.
I just don't understand why cities in California won't let go of single unit zoning.
Single unit is the most expensive and least efficient zoning rule. Getting rid of it would bring housing costs down.
Ever visit a beautiful city like Paris, Copenhagen, Milan and wonder why we don't have that? It would be illegal to make the buildings they have under our zoning code and parking mandates!
I'd rather have 0.1% of my money stolen than do business with banks.
He said "Stablecoins are tokens that are backed by a fiat currency."
But it really tokens that are pegged to a fiat currency. You can't redeem tethers because there is no back account holding a dollar for every tether.
I didn't understand what the button was and pushed it right away lol
You're not wrong, but it can be a fantastic experience if you do have your own self-hosted node. I run the geth node on a linux server and can connect to it to send blockchain transactions or retrieve information from the chain. Example: my tax prep software took my wallet addresses and found all my uniswap trades by querying the local node.
Car culture apology bullshit. Why aren't there safe places for bikes and peds on those roads too? Why should cars have all the space to the point where it is practically suicidal to be outside a car?
You should check out the NJB you tube links. Stroads aren't fast for car travel. If you want a fast road, design for that. Stroad design gives you the worst of both worlds: slow and terrible for anything other than driving/parking.
Yes but designing roads that are hostile to anything other than a car, thus forcing people into cars, is very common in America.
Brian is the man.
Love his web page on dutch bikes in Amsterdam. Inspired me to get a real dutch bike and put 30k miles on it! https://www.ski-epic.com/amsterdam_bicycles/
Correct, OP seems to be referring to single-collateral DAI aka SAI, which is deprecated. The current DAI is backed by a basket of assets.
IMO, the basket is too heavily weighted towards centralized stablecoins like USDC. I rotated some of my MKR holdings to Terra/Luna, which may have a better peg mechanism (although it is similar to Titan, which exploded).
Both of my ISPs offer IPv6 gateways. I set them up and visited several IP6 websites.
I crypto exchange I use frequently, Bittrex, allows to whitelist an IP address. Since I have a static IPv4, I did so. Problem is, my request to bittrex always goes out the IP6 gateway and Bittrex does not recognize me. I had to shut down the IP6 gateway to get into the account.
That's an old argument, the "vehicular cyclist."
Only 1% of people are brave enough to do this.
For bikes to have a significant mode share, it has to be more comfortable than "just mix in with the high speed SUVs."
Plenty of examples of high mode share, Copenhagen and Amsterdam above 50%, and they do not ask bicyclists to mix with fast dangerous cars.
Nissan Leaf tho
True but couldn't some good be compared like the cost of housing, food, clothes, etc.?
Picked up an HP calculator to take the FE exam. The other approved calculators were simple 4 functions calcs. I assumed everyone would be on the HP but I was the only one who had one at the testing center.
But yet . . .
Would you say eventually everyone who wants dollars will have enough and the demand for new dollars will be zero?
(Paraphrasing Sapiens): 1,000 years ago a person living in China had a varied diet, spent time catching food in a forest, was not exposed to industrial pollution, had large amounts of free time and time spent socializing with other humans.
Today, a person living in the same spot in China works 6.5 days per week doing the same task all day in an electronics factory, lives in a dorm with other workers and away from family, has no privacy, suffers from massive industrial pollution and noise.
Humans are adapted for the hunter gatherer life and this is likely the environment wherein human flourishing can be expected.
Each revolution (agricultural, industrial, information) has chipped away at that life more and more until it does not exist.
When Jared Diamond said in the 1990s that the agricultural revolution was the worst thing to happen to humans, there was outrage and he was forced to apologize. Now, that thinking is becoming accepted.
Huge grin fan
My skeptic friend is always asking me how will I know when to dump on the suckers. Answer: I don't want to dump on anyone, I want to hodl my coins!
They do self-custody.

That's neat, what's Teddit. A non-cluttered version of the site?
The Scorsese doc that came out on PBS in 2005(?) called No Direction Home does a great job of showing the "open source" body of work on which Dylan and the other Greenwich Village musicians in his orbit in the folk scene drew upon.
A Pete Seeger interview in the doc has particularly good commentary on the issue, with Seeger analogizing the playing and remaking of shared songs to how lawyers rewrite old laws and storytellers retell old stories to fit the new generations.
Agree with the comments in this thread. I never browse /r/all anymore but have connected with some small niche communities on reddit that are great.
It is interesting how much the character of the site changed as it has become more popular.
It's one thing to piss on btc on hacker news but would you really put up money shorting it? There are multiple ways to do so.
Crap, I was about to set up growl notifications for my pfSense install.
