We can build amazing things today too, but we have a lot higher standards and a lot more requirements than they did, which makes everything take longer time. Outside my office window an enormous new new warehouse was erected in just a few weeks, but it is just a huge box with no added extras so it can't have been very hard to do

This was something I really reacted to in Japan. Cyclists had absolutely no manners at all. I know it is popular to complain about cyclists everywhere, but Japan really stood out to me)

BankID has a desktop version, and no site which requires Mobile BankID would not allow you to also use the desktop version.
I too have wondered why it take so long to make stuff in CAD, and why even suggesting that everything should fit together the first time is laughable at best.
My theory is that computers can't do rough sketching. No CAD software suite (I think) can iterate and evalute rough ideas as fast and flexible as whiteboard pen in a meeting room can.
