I'm not saying that Firefox on Android has significant market share; rather that Android has significant market share, and those users could be served by switching to Firefox solely for the purpose of using an adblocker.
If all Android users did this, something would change.
Firefox on Android supports it without any issue. That would cover a significant enough segment of the population that it might encourage actual change in the industry if people started moving to that platform.
You'd be required to jump through the hoops to get your custom firmware approved by the necessary regulatory bodies, just as Tesla did for theirs.
It's not really feasible for a private owner, so I can see why it's not offered as an option.

The lights are indeed outdoor, and cover most of my backyard. It's a neighborhood within a major metropolitan area, but the light doesn't bleed beyond my property lines.
As for the "why", the answer is security. If someone attempts to hide in my yard, they'll find it quite difficult to remain unseen.
Most of my neighbors have floodlights of their own (though mine are easily the brightest), and I've gotten no complaints in the years I've had them. If any of my neighbors voiced concerns about them, I would try to work with them to find a solution. I have to live next to them, so it only makes sense to stay on good terms.

I'm having a hard time reading this as a reasonable suggestion, so I apologize in advance if I'm being closed-minded.
Do you not believe that this would lead to further bad outcomes? Children need something to do during the day, and with neither the ability to work, nor other obligations (not to mention their brains are not fully developed) it seems like they would end up far worse off than they would otherwise, even if the school was under-performing.
All the browsers on my machine report my resolution as 1080p despite using 4k. I assume this is because I run at 200% scaling (I believe this is relatively common among anyone using a 4k resolution)

There is a level of trust involved as unless you pull down the code, audit it and only ever run it locally, you really have no way of knowing that on any given page load the code hasn't changed.
While I also appreciate tools that don't send data, I don't like the normalization of teaching people to paste (potentially) private data into a browser while blindly trusting that it's not being offloaded to some server somewhere.

Nothing stops us from doing the same thing again. I've been recommending Firefox to all my family/friends/colleagues for years (ever since I've seen the writing on the wall for Chrome). While Firefox isn't perfect, it's in a much better place than Chrome is, and meets the the needs of nearly 100% of people.

If you were standing on top of Mt. Elbrus (elevation: 5.6km above sea level), you could see the horizon roughly 271km away (assuming the horizon was at sea-level, there were no obstructions, atmospheric or otherwise, etc). The inverse of this is that if you were at sea level, 271km away from the peak of Mt. Elbrus, you could theoretically see the peak of the mountain.
So, assuming you weren't at sea-level, it's reasonable that you could see the peak of this mountain from 300km away.
However, seeing the peak of a mountain on the horizon isn't sufficient. You'd need to see a large portion of the mountain on the horizon in order to determine that it's actually the mountain you see in the distance, and not a closer peak that's less tall. This means that the observer would need to be at sufficient altitude themselves in order to view the mountain from this distance. I don't know enough about the math to calculate the necessary altitude required by the observer, but I would estimate an elevation of many hundreds of meters above sea level to be necessary. If anyone else can calculate this better, I would love to know how to find the answer myself.

I wonder what the efficiency losses become in this configuration; using the grid to charge a battery to charge a vehicle.
A quick google query says that efficiency of L2 residential EV chargers is somewhere in the neighborhood of 85%, and for DC-DC chargers the efficiency is in the order of 90%. I don't know nearly enough about this to state anything definitively, but it sounds like the efficiency losses start to accumulate pretty quickly.
I wonder what the break-even point is in terms of cost compared to an average ICE vehicle.
