It is not un-replacable in itself, I'd imagine it is just a huge undertaking and many higher ups are afraid to do it and risk something going wrong.

Yeah, but searching for the actual word is much easier than searching the acronym. Take MAC for example (tried out with german google, so your experience may vary).

Yes, I took one of the harder ones, AES is on the first position, but still it is nice to know the words behind an acronym.

I don't know what you mean by "I didn't find it simple ....". I googled "python 2 und 3 differences", and that was the first result.

But if they still get bugfixes there will be even less incentive to switch for them.

And if I look at the whole thing now, "no new features" is not certain. If people are still unwilling to switch he may consider backpedaling and backport some other features to 2.X.

If the Python core developers care so much about practical usage they should never have released python3 with features that break backwards compatibility.

Windows 8.1 isn't that bad. I actually never really see Metro if thats your biggest problem with it.

Everything else (boot time, responsiveness etc.) feels like a direct upgrade from 7 and it works great for me. Did you try it once?
