That is not even true. Most JS apps are smaller than photos on the page. High resolution media is the main culprit of web page sizes.
Anyway, what's 20mb for 2gb ram pc? Nothing. That is not an issue.
They are slow because Windows got heavier while the hardware stayed the same.
That is not true. They are slow, because ALL software got better and more advanced and that is not only the operating system. It always makes me mad when people say that macOS is so optimized you can do more than on windows.
No. Old hardware not having a hardware decoder for modern youtube videos won't play them.
Modern webpages full of interactive realtime features won't fit in the RAM or will be bottlecked by a cpu. Yes, the modern linux will run, but are you going to do anything more than opening a notepad or old software? No. You are not going to use modern web apps or software on it.
Is it okay? Yes. Optimizing for old hardware is EXPENSIVE. Just move on.
It seems you could use a human instead then? If you have so many apps, you could hire a junior to help you. There is additional satisfaction of bringing new person to the IT too.
What I mean is a script that can look through the logs. They are known and deterministic (if you properly handle errors) and you can analyze them statistically. If you don't know what logs your app is outputting, then you have a bigger problem in your hands tbh.
What are people doing to burn through $3k in tokens?
The short answer is: they are doing slop. Most of the coding can be done quickly with a keyboard, intelisense and maybe some code generation templates.
But people became dependent on AI doing everything for them and tech bros now started to squeeze. Like a drug dealers.
Most of it doesn't require AI. You could generate automation scripts that do that, except of customer support. People became dependent on AI in places where it never was required and now tech bros are doing the squeeze.
The main difference is that on Linux you can do it on gui. It's much easier to explain and convice the user to click "allow executing file as program" checkbox than a xatttr obscure cli command.
The only small thing you forgot to mention - it requires use of AI. Open Ai to be specific. I've got baited.
That's the most delusional thing I've read all month. Sometimes you must deal with problematic people. Ever heard of Daryl Davis? Be like him 1% and world will be a better place. Don't be like a reddit moderator.
Do you research everybody you engage with? Are you a fed? He went there to refute some claims about himself, like a man, instead of crying behind organization brand on social media.
And stop moving the goal post. Now it's guilt by association, what's next?
He didn't say anything about Gos devs in there, yet they say he did. It's just not true. Do you have a Facebook account? Facebook is full of scams, are you also a scammer? Probably.
Rossman only ever commented on kiwi farms on a thread about himself. You are lying again, confirming the words of the parent comment.
And deserved criticism is not harassment.
Looks it's time to move on. New platform and tools will emerge, I'm sure of it. The only way we can fight corpos is not giving them money and not talking about them.
Making web pages even more slow. Normal people complain about it all the time, arguing that modern programmers are lazy.
It's redundant in single thread environment. Everyone moved to mobile while pages are getting slower and slower, using more and more memory. This is not the way. Immutability has its uses, but it's not good for most web pages.
Good luck with unsecure phone This is clearly a bad idea.
No sideloading, forced safari, locked os apis to cripple 3rd party accessories and apps (like watches or cloud software), updates crippling performance, massive number of bugs, especially if you don't use iCloud (i lost data multiple times after the update), to mention a few.
Why not use a phone that allows you to use the full version ublock? Ios is everything that is wrong with software today in one package.
Don't enable smart TV mode. Dumb TV mode is still android, so you can install apps, but there are no ads.
Money. And for the most part, tech blogs cannot just promote stuff that doesn't spy on you, because there is not much of it left to promote.
I've experienced low quality of pixel foldable myself. Few weeks after warranty, my 2000$ og pixel fold screen stopped working after a software update. Not the delicate inner screen. The outside, cover one. Some fiddling and testing and I found out that the hinge sensor failed and the phone cannot tell if it's open or not, so it defaults to the inside screen. Also, this happened to multiple people at similar time after an update.
Wanted a foldable, bought a pixel because of grapheneOS. Now I have to chose between low quality hardware vs phone bloated with Spyware. State of tech 2025.
But the problem is that is not the same test. Unless he's a robot, he can't reproduce exact movement and strength used to bend other phones. He could use less or more strength based on how well he slept, how he was feeling day before or how much money he received from a company before the "test".
An alternative is to go a library, rent a book, scan it and read on a reader. You are getting the book for free without supporting greedy drm shops.
Btw, in Poland where I live, every ebook shop sells drm free books. Every single one. Why? Amazon don't sell polish books, yet kindles for the long time were the only readers available, so people had to use a cable to transfer the books. And kindle can't read any other drm than their own. So shops had no choice and it stayed that way.
So maybe a third option (not really but maybe?) is to buy polish version and use Ai to translate it?
Similar advice would be to learn riding a bike by watching how others do it.
One might ask where to get a video that will work with this?
