i guess my point was that it isn't a given that hardware will always be cheaper, considering that memory prices this past year have gone through the roof.

you may argue that it is an outlier and capacity will increase to meet demand, which it probably will, but who's to say that won't just mean further demand from unlimited money ai companies and then further increased consumer prices?

Obviously, the average consumer has no idea what that sentence means, and Apple hasn’t figured out how to make them care.

the article also does nothing to show how or why consumers should care.

Gartner projects GenAI smartphone spending will reach $393 billion in 2026, up 32% from $298 billion in 2025.

is this because consumers are interested in "GenAI" smartphones, or because every smartphone manufacturer has decided to tack "AI" onto every piece of their branding and there's just no way around it?

it doesn't help that all these companies' legitimate emails contain suspicious-looking links in the first place. the link tracking/shortening that's built into these services isn't doing them any favors for their actually important emails

i misread the name as "Kapla" and thought it was a reference to the Klingon word "Qapla'"

just a meta note that the submitter, aanthonymax, likely only posted this to launder karma to avoid being shadowed for spamming their github project. a quick look at their post history shows that they only post links to their github project and then occasionally extremely low effort random mdn or other useless links to try to balance our their account. their previous account was shadowed for basically the same thing
