Safari introduced 3rd party ad blocker 7 years ago. If you want to run ad-blocker in 3rd party browser and apps, install and run Adguard Pro from the App Store. That’s been around for at least 5 to 6 years.

You're probably either not using the right ad-blocker or fail to configure the ad-block properly. If you just want a content-blocker that works in Safari- I find Purify works the best. If you want a full system ad-blocker which works in most apps- NYT, BBC, Chrome though not in the YouTube, Instagram, Twitter apps- it would have to be a DNS based Ad-blocker like Adguard Pro.

Not across the system, though. It only works in Safari. For system ad-blocking, the easiest option is via DNS based Ad-blocker services like Adguard Pro or Adblock (both are paid apps and available on the App Store).

There's also the VPN option. PIA, for example, comes with its own system ad-blocker (MACE) although it's nowhere as good as Adguard Pro (which allows you to use custom DNS server).

That's not true either. You can definitely save PDF in Evernote on the Mac (btw, there's only the App Store version of Evernote if your discount the web version).

To save PDF into Evernote on the Mac:

- if it's a file- use the share option (right click>Share>Evernote) - if it's in a browser- in Safari click on share (top right hand corner of the browser) > Evernote. If it's in Chrome, AFAIK, you have to use Evernote Web Clipper (extension) which is also available for Safari. - Of course, you can also copy/paste or drag and drop PDF into Evernote

It probably provides the best insight to the problem Google engineers were and probably is still facing in regards to high performance audio on Android. Even when the latency is brought down, there's still other audio related issues/glitches (like buffer underruns).

Even now that Android is measurably better than it was previously, things like buffer underruns can still affect the overall usability. Increasing the buffer (to fix the underruns) render the device less suitable for such things as using it with external MIDI controller. You can see from Superpowered's audio latency measurements:

You can always save it to Pocket and view it that way of use the reading option (where the extraneous graphics are removed) of your browser.

I'd start off simple by getting a midi controller like a Novation Launchpad (or Ableton Push if you can afford it) or a midi keyboard like the Akai MPK Mini. Pretty much all these controllers/keyboard comes with a software package or coupons/discount for Ableton Live. Are you guys planning at implementing dark/night mode at some point? One of the thing that makes MiniHack (the other iOS HN client) a joy to use especially later on in the day is that the screen automagically turn dark according to the display brightness. May I suggest that instead of going with black background, use the grey similar to the one in Reeder:

There's one discernible difference between Chrome and Safari on iOS 8- try scrolling on both and you'll see that both render them differently. Much faster on Chrome and less so on Safari. Prior to iOS 8, scrolling on both browsers were very much the same.

One of the reason for the audio latency issue on Android is the complex power management circuitry (PMIC) implemented on most of not all Qualcomm SoCs. That's why to anyone with experience in regards to using Android device in audios production, most would agree that the older 2011 Galaxy Nexus is still the Android device to use. Unlike the the recent Snapdragon based Nexus device, the GNex is based on TI OMAP4460 (dual-core ARM Cortex A9). It might not be a coincidence the Apple kept the number of cores on its A series SoCs to a minimum (only moving to 3 with the A8X).

My 1st generation 15" rMBP is getting close to its 3rd year. The original owner bought it in August 2012 and I bought it off him in March 2013. The screen coating is as good as the day I got it. From the onset, I made sure I don't use any solvent- no alcohol or ammonia based window/glass cleaner like Windex. Only water and old, worn, super soft but clean 100% cotton t-shirt (like my 5 year old American Apparel white t-shirt).

I know a lot of people go overboard when cleaning the screen. Either driven by OCD, you tend to clean it too often, putting way too much elbow grease and constant use of solvent. At the other end are those who let their laptops get covered in dirt and grime, thus, when they do decide to clean it, it's easy to do too much because that's the required effort.

What I would do is make sure after each use or every night, give your laptop a light wipe or dusting- eg. using a Swifter duster (use the 360º duster instead of the single-sided as it would minimise accidental scraping). If you don't have an old, soft cotton white t-shirt, use a good light colored micro-fibre cloth. Why white or light colored? To easily detect sand or dirt.

I believe Paper is only available on the US App Store as well as being iOS only. So it isn't surprising it's not well known.
