The problem is real amateur porn were kicked out because many feared to get verified which means people seek other less reputable sites to upload their videos on. Sites which some don't care about if it's legal or not like pornhub did and of course people will flock to sites that provide what pornhub destroyed. So many shady porn sites will get an income boost from what pornhub did in panic. Would you consider that a win since you agree with the verified only move? I definitely don't. It was a very bad move without any consideration of the consequences. You're supposed to support good sites. What pornhub was. Now it's just filled with professional garbage. I've been on these sites and stumbled upon illegal stuff. I never did that on pornhub. Nicholas Kristof only made the problem much worse. Journalists never consider the consequences. They only care about writing hit pieces.

I've read through the comments. Pornhub debacle is mentioned often. No one here is mentioning that many people have fantasies like a rape fantasy, a teenage fantasy, etc. A good search algorithm picks up on that and will make suggestions based on your previous searches/watched videos and the videos other people with similar interests have watched. This should be obvious. The videos have bad unspecified titles because it's easier to find. People are unspecified in their search terms. They don't search for "rape fantasy" they search for "rape". They don't search for "feet fetish" they search for "feet". What is it people don't get about this?

I think people should just mind their own business and stop policing what other people do. "If you don't like it don't watch it". As long as it's not illegal leave people alone with their fantasies. Don't be so damn judgmental. It's just sad how sexually repressed some people are and that they think they have the right to control other people. Why not ask for something impossible for them to agree to so they leave you alone? For example "I'll become an informant if you pay me 2 billion per contact and 1 million per week while being an informant". Will that not work?

FBI is very afraid of the public light because of this in my opinion illegal stuff they do. FBI must have positive PR. Bad PR means less trust, less informants, etc.

First name basis with FBI employees and you didn't do your duty and publish all the information you have extracted from them including names and face pictures. What the hell?! None of my social media accounts can be used to identify me. Even when young and stupid I never used my real name on any account. If you're not educated and smart enough to realize what internet is and to protect yourself well then you really shouldn't be on internet. I can't fathom why people connect their social media accounts to their real identity. Is it some kind of ego/narcissism thing? I've never felt the need to make sure my real identity gets credit for doing good things like helping people going through stuff to being a developer member on open source projects.

It would be interesting if someone researched that need. Would be a good addition to OPSEC education.

Windows 10 is a complicated mess. It would indeed be impressive if someone managed to do this with Windows 10.

Compared to Linux Windows 10 is a malicious bloatware operating system designed to prevent you from removing the bloat and the user hostile stuff. Which is why I think it's not possible to do this with Windows 10.

Microsoft did an unfortunately great job at silencing Mark Russinovich by hiring him. I really miss these kind of posts from him. I enjoyed them very much. Including all those useful tools he made and stopped making when Microsoft hired him.

It's called "lock-in". First give users the service for free, then limit where they can use it and move some features to the subscription only area. When users have reached a certain amount of people. BOOM! Forced subscription or forced usage of a certain proprietary software (Chrome) to use the service. The same thing is happening to Windows 10.

People want sync to function since they have a google account but they don't want the privacy and security violations that come with using Chrome.

I'm hoping EU will step in soon. It's monopoly behavior to remove sync from Chromium. It's free after all so what is google butthurt about? Oh right, they can't track and collect user data since that's the first thing devs remove in their Chromium fork.

Google shot themselves in the foot by being corrupt. Claiming incognito protects you while the google analytics and google's other services can run around collecting your info without any issues. You don't give users a false sense of security. That's how your buildings catch fire, literally. Some do fantasize about doing it. Read enough forums to see that pattern emerging. The problem is that google refuse to fix bugs that allow fingerprinting. Those bugs can be years old!! This is why we need laws that force devs to fix privacy and security bugs or pay HUGE!!! fines. Hit them where it hurts. If each unfixed bug costs them 25% of the company's total worth per MONTH while it remains unfixed I bet they will fix them very fast. The dev tools window is still detectable by malicious javascript on sites. That stops and hides when the dev tools window is detected. I am certain google use that detection for their malicious behavior too. Why else drag their feet? They are hypocritical. First they are anal-retentive about security and on the other hand they ignore bugs for years.

Not to mention the double standard google have. Long ago they fixed chrome to detect auto-installed extensions when you installed other software and yet google is doing the same bloody thing themselves. Try it yourself on a fresh new profile and check the extension page and the extension folder. Extensions are auto installed without permission. Manually removing them doesn't work either. They will be reinstalled.

I run a security program called Comodo Internet Security on Windows 7 (admin). It have a feature that blocks all new software from starting, downloading to accessing the filesystems important folders and files. It also blocks software from accessing internet. It can be a bit dialog heavy until you have set it up. It is a good software when you have configured it properly. Have never had anyone break in via internet nor any malicious software issues. Although Ive got common sense when it comes to what is safe to download but still I like Comodo (most of the time).

When the OS cant deliver you can find software that do. So why the whining about the OS security? For example the first thing I install is a proper Firewall >with advanced configuration control<.

Comodo even stopped the malicious Windows 10 update with malicious dialog design hiding how to close it and a delay timer so it can start the update without user consent. Comodo is not supposed to stop updates to but my configuration must have been why it did. And we all know that malicious updateS liked to remove personal files and software installed by the user. Im thankful for comodo. I later disabled the malicious updateS (since there were many attempts to make it run, they changed the update name several times). Nasty and malicious indeed.

Technology evolves so fast that a tech vault would become obsolete very fast. People in the future may not know how to deal with such obsolete technology. Technology also degrades over time. Unlike seeds you cant "freeze" technology to keep it from degrading. At least I dont know how.

I have had psychiatric care for over half my life. The medicine I get do not work and I have tested everything the doctors have prescribed to me. None of the medicines work. I have had the feeling of hopelessness and the will to die for a very long time. If this was an option in my country I would jump at the chance. When an animal suffers you put it down. You do not keep it alive for as long as possible. That is barbaric. The indifference the doctors have is not helping either. That the nurses treat you as a child is infuriating. Nurses come as close to going over to baby speech as possible. I would love to know the drugs she drank.

If there are sites you often visit you can see if there exist a userscript for those sites that may have that feature.

You can also block videos completely with an adblocker.

"extremely US centric" All content services are like this. Even Netflix hides some content from non-Americans.

The common excuse is licensing and copyright. Yet none of these services are actively trying to fix it. They just do not care about non-Americans.

Many other American companies make excuses too. Apparently non-American money is no good. Heck, Microsoft have differing support services. They even actively try and hide the contact information. When you find you figure out quickly they ignore your contact requests. Unless you mention bomb, gun or addresses of their employees families. Oh the creepy things you have to do to get them to do their job. It is vile nasty work indeed.

Just the other day some people talked about a person getting accused of sexual harassment because he wore a t-shirt with a big X on it. The bandwagon effect caused yet another person to claim the t-shirt were insinuating racism because of the t-shirts colors. For crying out loud! Think the victim got reprimanded, perhaps fired. Can't remember, I was quite drunk at the time. Do remember it didn't end well though.

This sort of bullshit is getting worse and more common. Companies don't want to deal with the drama so they just fires the victim of these accusations and publish a press release of which they pat themselves on the back for what they did.

You dislike someone? Accuse them of rape or sexual harassment, let the bandwagon effect do the rest. The drama queens, attentions whores, liars, trolls and such make the same accusation or similar and for some reason when several people claim the same or similar means the person is guilty. Argumentum ad populum.

This just pisses me off. What happened to "whoever makes a claim carries the burden of proof regardless of positive or negative content in the claim." Where's the justice?

This is like the witch accusations a few decades ago. "Aww. She didn't float, she drowned, guess she wasn't a witch. Oh well, mistakes happen". "She swore revenge and cursed us while she burned to death. It can only mean one thing: she was a witch!".

Companies don't do anything just because it's the right thing to do. Putting out a fire? Trying to kill a lawsuit? Perhaps the good ol' economical incentive? What have made Microsoft to lift a finger? And which finger?

Been asking myself why drugs that make you feel good is banned like cannabis, mushrooms, LSD, etc. Government got anything against people feeling good? Conspiracy?

Well, they lose effectiveness. The body adjusts to the constant input. Which is what addiction is. What many people don't understand is that addiction isn't drug abuse. We should fight to remove the negativity the word addiction have.

Very annoying that the body do this. If you could figure out a drug that prevents this you could make billions!

For example and something everyone can try: My body is addicted to coffee. If I don't take it for a few days I'll become very tired, headaches, etc. It's lasts for about two weeks. While addicted I don't abuse it. I've even switched to tea a few times.

They research it because the doctors can't be bothered with that even though it's their job. Why doctors aren't fired in masses is bewildering.

Got this issue with my doctors. They just don't care about me. They want to do as little work as possible. They refuse to read the papers I give them. They refuse to use effective medicines according to the research. They refuse to listen to me period. They're lazy sadistic assholes.

Finding a doctor that actually cares, works and fight to heal you is very difficult. As rare as unicorns.
