Right, the FAQ puts emphasis on you streaming one song at a time to people you know - I don't see how this is different from streaming ten songs to ten people you don't know, you're still sending music to people who don't own a copy of it. Not that I agree with the way the music industry seems to be going, but I imagine they could come knocking wanting a big piece of your pie?
I'd agree with that, a terrible article. My favourite time-saving tip - doing a bit of work on your laptop whilst driving..
Should be interesting to see how this natural step up from chicagocrime.org evolves, I'm not from the US but the three initial cities have kept me clicking around for a while - reading the team's past interviews / posts I'd expect them to put a lot into EveryBlock, and it seems they have. Can't wait to see what the site is like in a year!
You'd be best off setting Subversion to ignore various files - anything ending in .pyc shouldn't be in the repo' and you really don't want everything in settings.py out in the wild.
Great stuff, good to see some action in the UK and that it's to do with Django. I was going to suggest posting on djangogigs.com but I think you've beaten me too it :D
I really liked the linking used, it's nice to get quotes to put things in perspective but this took you into the story and gave you all these other documents and sites to explore. It was all kind of creepy really, I felt like a voyeur almost.. excellent article.
