2. I have experimented with cognition and mood modulation with positive personal results. I would prefer not to go over my current area of application since it is outside of the well-tested. When my current endeavor needs tune-in to a particular news cycle, I've set up simple scraping of top headlines only. These are usually demarked via keywords, headers or other metadata. Sure, there are some services and RSS readers that facilitate the functionality and ease of use. Except I need less user-friendliness, not more.

Having to spend a minute more per news source, as opposed to some copy-pastes or clicks, keeps the need to over-subscribe down. The interests of the media in representing information do not match my own. I have not been able to find analyst materials that do not suffer from politically and emotionally manipulative agendas.

Not letting noise in from the start is the best policy for me.

Take Claude E. Shannon's Master's thesis, the long version. Considered by many the most important Master's thesis of last century. It fully introduced the concept of binary / Boolean logic to design of electronic circuits. If you understand the core premise of his work, you understand the core of computers. If you can apply his work, you can design computers.

In his thesis, 1+1=1. Why? If you understand postulates, it makes sense for the kind of theory he is developing. If not, you should be very excited: mathematical theory, unlike how it is presented in bad schools, is not about following rules someone has decided on. I'm making decent money (enough to survive to western world standards, which is the golden standard when you look at it) and I still remember fondly helping an injured person survive, as part of my job as a rescue worker. It was a team effort, I got to meet them 6 months afterwards, they were kind enough to bring their x-ray to the station, prompted by the doctors that said our team effort prevented them from being permanently paralyzed. I remember my childhood friend, who is a trauma surgeon, smiling at me knowingly: yeah, it's the ultimate high. You don't beat death or the devil, you get to tip the scale a bit, but it is the ultimate high.

Do you want to experience a moment of true self evaluation? That is cheap, but not easy. Meditate on the moment of you own death. One suggested practice is breathing exercises. No one path is better than the other, but this may be one of the paths:

- Count your exhalations, backwards, from 10, on a loop. Sit or walk during.

- Try to locate where your mind is in your body. Is it in your head? Where? Keep asking: "Where is my mind?". It is not the words that matter, direct your attention to finding the source of your attention.

- Listen to silence around you, no matter the noise. Noise can be words in your head, loud movement external to you, whatever, listen to the silence around it. If you combine these three activities, breath count, mind location, silence focus, the "daily" mind becomes overwhelmed. Don't do this when driving or any other activity that requires 100% attention.

As far as self-evaluation, wherever you go, there you are. Whether people remember you or not, is besides the point. What do you really remember about yourself?

There are different approaches to pitches, but in my experience, I want the 'blurb'/core pitch pretty high up. I looked at the demo and for me a talking head Is an allergy response, of all the videos/meetings I have to sit through. Some people, I've user-tested this, LOVE to have a talking head screen greet them. So I'm not making a wide statement here. However, I know all user feedback is valuable for a start-up, so I'll go on rambling about my first impressions.

I would want a more website-like experience, such as a clickable menu that makes sense. What I mean is the sections to the right did not show anything that was "attractive": summarizing a positive outcome if I clicked on it.

Again is debatable if this is for the presentation demo or if this has to be addressed through thinking about how the UI and the userUI for building a journey should be more adapted to target user-valuable outcomes.

I would want a chart/mind map overview on the first page and not a full-screen talking head. I can live with 50/50, video and some summary that addresses my needs for pitching, which are: show a capture page that can give the visitor a quick overview of what pain solutions my product has and how it can be used and integrated into their current reality. That way, they will come back to it and share it.

For now, my reaction is: I should check this out, but I would have to spend time, I estimate 20 minutes, to understand it, and my gut reaction is: I don't have mindspace for this right now. THe presentation did not present the value of the product and the idea so that looking at it further would be clearly not painful.

But I think the core pain identified is very real. I have to make a presentation next week and I dread how much mindspace I have to dedicate to it.

iF you store your coins on a storage device not connected to a computer, maybe. As long as the government does not have access to the computer/phone the storage gets connected to, at any one time.

With state actors, you have to assume they have access/backdoors to most modern computing devices, and that device has to connect to the internet only twice - feds activate the backdoor and give it instructions, and have the device send the requested info back to the fed.

The real lesson is,and been for a while, if you do a start-up, do like Zuckerberg and The Google boys. If you want your company to stay your company, watch that vital stock and keep the majority votes.

I've dived the Blue Hole, recreational depths. I felt an evil presence there and had nightmares about the Hole 2 nights after, with some kind of blue energy trying to consume me.

I am not a superstitious person, and have dived multiple deep technical dives with bad visibility, below 0 Celsius sea water (poor dive computer) on sites with munitions, chemical contamination and war graves with body remains. This is the only time I felt that there was a large predatory presence watching me and all around me. Was offered to do the Arch, have the needed experience and clearances. Did not do, will not do ever.

The memorials and history of the place did not affect me in any way, I've worked rescue, dealt with dead bodies and attended many a funeral. I've participated in autopsies as part of my training. The blue hole was a strange enough experience that it stands out of all of my many dives.

Pockets of resistance will always remain, absolutely. Shall having a general computing device be a crime then? Quite possibly. Today:

governments forcing installation of encryption subversion. governments banning encryption. manufacturers looking to completely lock down what software is allowed to run on their devices. MS flirting with that direction for their os as well. Push for de-anonymization on the internet, from all directions.Internet of things that all call home and do tell.

List can go on for quite a while... "The cyberpunk we deserve", as the popular Russian meme goes.

You can read it however you like, I have actively worked on making the imagined future, it just happens to be envisioned in the past as no better vision has somehow emerged. Do contemplate the reason.

General use computing with users in control is a humanist imperative.

Could you use your standard TV to take a part of a broadcast, edit at will and re-send it? Key is, even for cable TV, you had to apply. Add the need to have special, extra gear. The internet silos today, removing access at whim and limiting what users can do on their platforms, are essentially taking on that role of a broadcaster while avoiding responsibilities imposed on publishers, a clever trick.

I hope this is succinct to show the fundamental difference between the ideas behind the Internet and TV.

The Internet and WWW may be seen as to be de-evolving from open standards, open access, and user ability to participate, create, and learn.

Video was 60% of downstream internet traffic in 2019. "Go the way of the TV" as a metaphor may be interpreted in may ways. Early idealists saw TV as bringing Shakespeare to the masses. We know how that went.
