I love this size for my 64GB MacBook Pro. I’ve been going back and forth between Mistral Small and Gemma 3. I love how quick this model is.

It would be a case against server less if Lambda were the only option. You’re always free to setup your own container which would still give you control over all of that.

I really don’t think it would. Google is already number #1 in search. OpenAI is quoting a ~$40 price per month for ChatGPT Pro right? That’s not an insignificant cost for 99% of the population. I don’t see how it makes sense for Google to release something until they actually need to.

As a meat eater, I hope this succeeds because I think doing without the whole factory farming stuff would be pretty cool.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate that the headline included the overall % instead of just having a contextless number.

I have never been able to afford any VR and so what I think is the bubble of wealthy people who work on VR like FB are just completely disconnected with the general populations reality of not being able to afford the equipment.

Facebook is one of the main companies that is working on making the equipment affordable. It’s too bad that it’s out of your price range buy it looks like Facebook is working on making this a computer replacement. Their tech is cutting edge technology so imo the $350 they charge seems reasonable.

I remain highly skeptical that there is a common neurological physical pathology in children that is treatable by a steady lifetime use of amphetamines and amphetamine derivatives.

I would argue that even if the effects diminish over time (and it’s true, they do), the benefit of being able to focus in class in those early formative years will pay dividends down the line. Being able to pay attention means you don’t have to play catch-up in math/English/etc later in life. The knowledge you gain in those years doesn’t go away once you stop taking meds.

I’m just speaking as someone who didn’t get diagnosed until I was in my late 20’s. Getting diagnosed and prescribed meds was truly life changing and it’s frustrating thinking back and knowing school didn’t have to be so difficult.

Getting meds at the pharmacy (even after getting a prescription) can be a pain. I’ve run into issues where I’ll have a prescription, but the pharmacy that it’s sent to is out of stock. But pharmacy’s aren’t allowed to disclose stock of controlled substances over the phone, so I have to call my Dr to ask them to transfer the prescription to a different pharmacy, hoping that it’s not out of stock. If it is, I have to do that all over again. It’s annoying to say the least.

Getting prescribed meds was the single biggest game changer so that makes sense to me…though I guess everyone is different.

Those classes are still around, in California (Los Angeles) at least.

That’s awesome. I have a slightly similar story.

Some class in college had us do debates taking a side on some legislation that was being discussed in congress. I had just given my argument and the other side came up to ask me questions (like a cross examination).

One of the questions ended up being what I’d consider a gotcha question (though really I should have known the answer). They asked me what the bills name stood for (it was one of those crazy acronyms they like to use). I honestly don’t think I made it a point to remember that because it was a silly name, so I almost froze for a bit. But instead I answered by explaining the “moral implications” of “what the bill stood for”. I think the professor liked that because I wasn’t deducted any points.

Also, I wouldn’t take any credit for thinking on my feet because I’m pretty sure I simply misunderstood the question at the time lmao

So, even their most generous estimate doesn’t support what you are saying. And that’s assuming that the price of gas wont drop any further (it will).
