As if they even need this. Having worked at a small construction company for a year, I've seen multiple worker's comp claims denied even when the injury is our fault. Worker's comp in general is flawed, but this scheme shows that the United States really don't care what happens to our nation's laborers as long as the lobbyists are happy.

I don't know if I'd agree with branding it as a "console". Platform might be a better word. Console implies it's a self-contained set of hardware, which this isn't.
Good proof of concept, probably not a good business though. What makes this different from something like Kongregate, where I don't have to use my phone as a controller?

Smuggling goods is highly punishable, and letting people pass through the North Korean border, rather than shooting them, could get the border guards killed instantly.
This made me think the border guards have Running Man-esque bomb collars around their necks. I'm sure there's consequences, but compared to shooting smugglers I don't think their punishment would be that instant.
I've used computers most of my life. Other than my eyes being very sensitive (applying eyeshadow causes me to tear up), my vision is better than 20/20. Honestly, computers have done way more damage to my posture than my eyesight.

Been using Gmail since the beta and never had a problem with the spam filter either. The only false positives I've ever had were some confirmation emails from Amazon.

Was I the only one disappointed to hear that the knife couldn't be used as a screwdriver? I would think that a game designer would be excited to allow the pocket knife to be used as a separate, emergent solution to the puzzle. Don't give the player a tool and then tell them it doesn't work. That's not immersion, it's a tease.

I feel like the OPM isn't doing enough about this breach. Espionage or not, American citizens outside the IC were affected and deserve to know if they've been compromised. More efforts need to be made to inform potential victims before any more harm comes from this, including greater transparency with regards to what systems have been affected and what the OPM could have done to better secure this data. That, and an apology would be nice.
There was a lot of yelling from both sides of the conversation, mostly about topics unrelated to the article itself. While the thread should have been about the actions Voat's host took against it, most of the discussion was off topic, and overly heated at that.
Point 2 is referring to fulfillment of Kickstarter costs, not translation. Backers on Kickstarter receive rewards with their pledges, which someone has to pay for, including shipping on not just games but also t-shirts, art books, and other novelties (most likely internationally). Part of the money earned will go towards that.

ISDS isn't the only problem with the treaty, though. It's just another problem that highlights how much TTIP would empower corporations at the detriment of private citizens.
I'm pessimistic about the chances of TTIP being stopped. For all the public outcry and actions of those brave politicians standing against it, I have a feeling that negotiations will side with the money.
Does Google have a team working round the clock to develop the most annoying webpages possible? For as many "cool wow amazing" CSS tricks as this site uses, it doesn't do a good job of explaining what it is at all. And what's up with the products page? Why does it scroll so slowly?
Even if you store the secret on the same server it shows some effort went into the protection of user credentials.
But why? Why would you dynamically render your logo like this? Is the extra overhead really necessary?
While generational groups may have similar experiences, and therefore similar worldviews based on those experiences, it seems to me that the labels themselves aren't used in that way. They're used more as labels of pride and prejudice, and much of their associated feelings and statements are based on personal beliefs rather than actual human interaction. Consider how many news articles are writing about the habits of Millenials these days with regards to work and life. Most, if not all, of them are written as rants looking to pin the author's dislike of modern culture on a younger generation. Even Boomers had their share of unfounded, ranting criticism from their predecessor generations when they were younger, and it's fair to assume that in the future we'll have articles written by Millennials about how Gen-Z is lazy and ungrateful. Generational cohorts have a place, but we often confuse them with the nature of our entire society rather than just those of a certain age.

I have no idea what this site does, but it sounds like it lets game players pitch ideas to game developers. Look at the ideas section of Steam Greenlight and you'll understand immediately why this is a bad idea.

There's tons of problems with Google's services. They make radical changes that bloat them and slow them down. They cut services that people find useful because they're not as big as something like Maps or Gmail, or even for no reason at all. But no matter how much you complain, either on a blog post or to Google themselves, if you just come back to them at the end of the day you've changed nothing at all.
Not liking Google Photos? Get Dropbox on your phone and upload your pictures there! Blogger doesn't give you enough control? Use Wordpress or Medium instead, or run your own blog! Google has too many users on their services to care about you. If you want change, go out and make the change yourself.
Keep in mind the author's research into video games in general was probably only skin deep. Statements like saying World of Warcraft is older than Starcraft indicate that they probably paraphrased a lot of the vidya discussion.
What's the strain on the device itself for something this accurate? What kind of impact would it have on battery life? Even if it was a buck for the chip, what other factors, e.g. processing power, would limit its applications in consumer-grade electronics?
Let's not start praising Mayer until she actually turns Yahoo around. It's still in decline, and while she's able to slow it, Yahoo isn't winning again yet. They have a lot of push in the mobile market, but there's nothing attractive to me about Yahoo's suite of apps yet. Even Tumblr, the service that should be seeing some of the most mobile exposure, doesn't appeal to me on my phone as much as Twitter, Facebook, or even YikYak.
Not to mention, I'm concerned about her earlier investments in content creation. Does anyone have any knowledge of how well Yahoo is doing on the video side? Yahoo spent a lot of money on high quality video and video streaming, but mobile users don't have the bandwidth necessary to make use of that service. I think Mayer should look to cut costs by dropping or slimming down Yahoo Screen, unless they can improve the experience for mobile clients.
