Get this: China sends us all this great stuff, and the only thing they get is OUR FIAT CURRENCY, which is essentially worthless. And then, what do they do with that currency? They buy our treasury bonds, which pay them interest in our own fiat currency. Not only that, but every bond they buy is more encouragement to help us keep the US economy strong and stable. The trade deficit thing looks like a great deal for us when viewed from some angles.

I dumped TeamViewer a few months ago in favor of Google Remote Desktop. It satisfies my occasional low bar requirements, and doesn't make me feel guilty for using it without pay. I connect between iPad, Windows, Linux, a couple of times a month. Easiest thing I've found so far.

Mint, for the last few years. I honestly don't remember why I chose Mint after using Ubuntu previously. In any case, I'm not shopping for a change. It does exactly what I need.

I learned Spades in the USNavy, and didn't realize that it was intimately associated with African-American culture at all. I preferred Spades, but the most popular card game (at that time, in that setting) was Euchre.

Personally, I'm done with Dyson. James was a vocal supporter of Brexit, gets what he wants, then decides to move his company's HQ to Singapore. That kind of blatant hypocrisy taints their products for me.

Silly idea. We could not possibly come up with all the possible outcomes (positive and negative) of space colonization in order to make an "informed" decision. If Phil Torres and his friends decide for us that space colonization should not proceed, how do they enforce that decision?

Apparently an 11 million dollar exemption (soon to be >20 million) isn't enough to satisfy these oligarchs - (not to mention that above that exemption, we're still only talking a percentage, not the entire fortune).
