If you're going to use a lib like pLimit to limit the concurrency of a map, just use pMap which accepts an argument to limit the concurrency and makes it more readable and straightforward

In that case what prevents us from building energy storage facilities that produce hydrogen at night and release the electricity back into the grid during the day? Wouldn't it be more efficient than transporting the hydrogen by truck and transporting the hydrogen battery on every train?

What I meant was that back in the old days, people didn't bother as much to recycle things, so lead batteries ended up thrown away in the nature. Of course today we recycle a lot more, so it would be less of a problem.

Honestly, if all car today and in the last 70 years had huge lead batteries, I don't think it would be a good thing. Battery recycling is a fair problem for today's electric cars and people at the time used to throw away anywhere what they didn't need any more, including their car batteries.

More like the Chevy Bolt / Opel Ampera e, the i3 has very limited range while the Chevy/Opel offers between 300 and 500km of range thanks to its much bigger 60kWh battery. The BMW i3 only has a 33kWh battery in the newer version, previous one was even less than that... The Leaf 2018 goes in the right direction, but 40kWh is still no enough to do 3h+ road trips.
Also, you make a very good point by saying that the Chevy Bolt/Opel Ampera E is a much better choice (ignoring the design). Same pricing as the Model 3 but the range seems much better. Given the experience of Chevy, I think that they can reduce the price and mass produce the Bolt much faster than Tesla can do with the model 3.

I guess in the end it all depends on what you need to do. Your need seems to be maximum performance, why go for the best "compromise" CPU and then criticize their choice? Clearly you should go for either of the 3 recommended CPU for performance. (which are also better for PCIe lanes and memory, but have a poor performance price ratio).
Nice one, you compare second hand prices to brand new prices. Anandtech's goal is to guide you in the chip market buying it brand new, not hunting it on ebay. Also, what they say with the 1950x being the best compromise between number of PCIe lanes, processing power, maximum memory etc. If you didn't notive, performance is not their only criteria.
Basically, IPC in an Intel core is a bit better than in an AMD core. Keeping this in mind, you can compare core counts, frequency, power draw, PCIe lines or whatever floats your boat.
To compensate for a lower IPC, AMD will give you more cores (sometimes a lot) for the same price.
It all depends of what you need your processing power for.
